No trailer making for us for a while.....It has made me question how trailer manufacturers can make then so cheap! For $2200 you can get something bigger and similar.

Never thought I'd end up with a trailer, but they do make life easier. I can fit four boards inside, including Formula boards with long masts, sails and booms. Also has a side section for all the wetsuits, fins, bases, etc, etc. Never need to select what gear to take sailing, just take the lot. Also good to shelter behind when it's cold and windy.

A mate built it, but he ended up not having enough room in his drive/garage to keep it so I ended up being the lucky receiver. It was completely custom built and is pretty lightweight. I think it's galvanised steel, some aluminium and a lot of ply-wood inside. Tows really well.

That trailer looks amazing!

We had our first outing with the trailer on the weekend, made life very easy, no reaching onto roofs to get boards off, no stuffing gear into the car for half an hour before or after, just a simple hook up, plug in and go.

The trailer I started with was a standard 6x4, pretty old rusty, heavy duty trailer.

I do like the enclosed style trailers, Tim has a ripper that he built himself here in Adelaide.

it might be all well and good for you guys in less populated areas of the country but have fun trying to find anywhere to park the trailer and your car on a windy nor easter at any sailing spot in Sydney in summer!!! It's hard enough finding a spot for a mini let alone a fourbie with a trailer attached!
