Great videos Dave ,how did Roo like his cherry ripes ....

Only one problem, wasn't enough of them....yum! Thanks Dave for making the effort to bring them, can I place an order for next year. Dave's videos give you a great idea of what the event is like, watch them if you are planning to make the trip!

My wing popped, cars broke, cameras all busted, can't afford chocolate any more so i got bulk cacao butter to make my own. Turns out it's not easy, lots of skill and know how in tempering chocolate. So yeah, just get the big box of of cherry ripes. It will be awhile before Jim's Chocolate reaches stores..

Yeah, agree with Jason, Surfcenter couldn't have done it any better, supplying the latest gear and providing fantastic service. I rented a brand new iSonic 63, with two new masts and booms and two slightly used MACH7 sails (5.5 and 6.5), plus ext, base and carbon 32cm Finish race fin. A mate (Cookie) hired pretty much the same gear and, as the wind forecast was a little light, they swapped his 5.5 for a 7.5 (no questions asked). The atmosphere was fantastic and we're both planning to book again for 2026!! Our partners also loved it, hence our being able to go again, with a European holiday tacked on at the end!

Hello and happy new year!! As i am planning for 2026 event, i want to ask some few more questions.
Did you also have to pay for the storage of the gear that you rented? Is it an option?
Was it easy to communicate with the surf center team and find them with so much people?
Also do you have any recommendation for apartment rental?

Thank you in advance!

Getting close to Defi 2026, and need to start thinking about rental gear. SurfCenter have a number of options re gear, the full kit Brand New for 2000 Euro, and second hand for 750 Euro, or can mix and match, Brand new Board, fin etc, and second hand sails, mast and boom. For those that rented last year, was your gear, brand new or used for 750?? Not quite sure what to do. 1250 Euro for the difference is a lot of beers, but don't want to end up with someone else dinged up holiday discards either.

Fantastic you guys are going. Cookie and I rented pretty much new gear last year from Surfcenter, but we could pick and choose between new and used (based on what they had available). I think the only things I had that weren't new were my slightly used MACH7 5.5 and 6.5m sails. They don't have storage (or didn't last year). We just picked up the gear four days before the event and dropped it all back at the end. We had rented a large van (Renault Trafic Combi) and were able to park pretty close to the rigging area each day, but also shared space in Ian's van which he left in the carpark at the beach (best option if you are staying nearby). We stayed in the town about 10 minutes away, which was fine (booked on-line and worked out fine). The guys and girls at Surfcenter were easy to find as they had a stand as part of the Ultimate Experience, so you'd just go there to find someone, and we had their numbers, so you could text them if you needed to get in contact. As there wasn't as much wind as we had been hoping for Cookie was able to swap the 5.5m he had hired for a 7.5m, at no charge, so another bonus with renting gear (but only if they have it spare - which probably wouldn't normally be the case, as they are also pushed for space in the truck and at the site). When I next go, I'll get mostly new gear again. I took my fins, footstraps, harness lines, uphauls and adjustable outhauls and it didn't take long to set them all up. Having my own footstraps on the 63w/91L board made it feel pretty much like my own board!
