3rd go on my new fast kit.
WTF, it is not going real fast.
I'm very happy that i sailed in the persistent pear shaped upside down summer weather yet again though.
And the new kit worked again. ![]()
But why no go fast? Why spin-out? Is it kit, sailor, location? How much wind needed to go fast? Don't answer that - super pear weather tomorrow, maybe tomorrow it comes together.
I tried all my fancy new fast parts today. I thought they'd easily be sailing themselves straight out of low 20's, bypassing mid 20's, and hit 30.
22kts. That was it. But fast enough is fast enough hey. I went out and came back. Good enough.
Out alone for the first part on SLW. Brother mobdog stuck at work lots these days.
Storms skirting the area.
I was wondering how Mungo Lake would go in the rare straight east wind. Shoulda went. Coulda found out. Jimmy's not so good in straight east.
Straight east pushes us out into the chop, and the shark pit.
Usually i turn around dry, but knowing i was turning over the pit today, fear took over and i kept falling straight into it in the turns .
Later when mobdog came, courage came back and i sent it into turns and no more falls into the pit.

Everyone knows covid is a construct by the illuminated, to suppress the sheep, egged on by the main stream media perpetuating the conspiracy theory that you need even more down haul to defeat the whale killing windmills.
Broken arm so Went to Narrabeen to torcher myself watching everyone out ripping. Took photos instead.
It's plainly a conspiracy to keep people from getting on the roads burning petrol because they can't get them to take global warming seriously because they think it's a conspiracy. See what happens conspiritards.
I haven't had it for weeks (a sail that is) because it's either too light or too gusty and rainy.
Conspiritards.. interesting.
Maybe if I get a big ol' spanking new dodge ram 3500 to carry my kit in I'll go faster.
The computer says it has 'awe inspiring' capabilities.
New normal weather is upon us. It is 18kts first thing upon waking up mid north coast. I'm applying 'tough hands' cream and going back to the beach.
The theory is that it is all caused by the company that makes that hand cream. So people sail, sail some more and stop surfing.
The surfboard wax people go broke, and wave pools become dingo sanctuaries.
Phew - i needed that. Pretty much un-bugged now after that dose i think.
Black Friday shopping spree paid back again. The SLW would no way have handled.
Strong wind today. Not a north east seabreeze, north super storm action i think ![]()
North, it ment the downwind run was backwards to normal.
The mast poking out the top is normal in the new normal.
I think the board worked pretty normal, like it was supposed to in those winds.
I went the fastest i've ever gone.
I sensed catastrophe in the beginning when my back foot was stuck and kit was thinking about going into a high, high wind unintentional jibe type scenario. Luckily, the situation was averted. Bit scared all alone so i took it easy for awhile. Came in and loosened back straps.
Bombed out by freaky good kiters later.
None of them hit me like a sailor got hit the other day. So that was good. His kit flew, in a bad bad way, wrapped up in kite lines.
Mobdog came later but his kit was too much. Smoked.
Epic storm rolled in and over us just packed up.

I was a full Carvin Marvin on that kit. So nice.

So many people stop and say "wow - whats that? I thought everyone kites now?"
I started out kiting here. I went backwards in the evolution, to the long forgotten art of windsurfing, to go forwards.
I came out of the dark side.
It wasn't long ago that i would come into beach like that and just crash into it rolling up the sand.
If i did a crash landing then it would have been them, but i didnt, they didnt jinx me. ![]()
sorrynotsorry, i'm still frothing on my super session which felt like a life time waiting for.
The kites played a part. It is a dangerous mix, but yesterday they made me have a swivel head, looking around backwards, forwards and upwards while going around a turn. But never downwards, at my feet, or the boom. This helped crack another part of the jibe code for me yesterday.
Also i gybed without thinking too much, wherever safe to do so, i tried to send it and get outta dodge asap.
Pear shaped weather. Usually we are going downwind on starboard tack. Different and good in the new normal.
