Decrep I don't think it was quite that bad? I can only see his mucking around with Jordo in the Quatro thread about 2hrs before your post and there is winks all thru it.... unless it has been edited. maybe i missed another one

If you took each post on it's own, it wouldn't be too bad, but there's been so many of them, there's an accumulative effect..

Don't remember where the Jordo one was, but it was something about sailing on the river, then said Woody's was just as bad.

Didn't worry me all that much, but I've been in a room where others were discussing his posts, and they weren't happy.

Just thought it needed to be pointed out to him.

He's obviously not aware, how others are affected by his comments.

Funny how freestyle doesn't have a big following in WA, I guess we're blessed by too much wind and waves for anyone to bother

But seeing the euros come here and dance their boards like ballet, I respect that more than speed sailing by a LONG way.

If I go the river to practice some freestyle stuff on my waveboard, I usually keep pace with the guys on race gear, or often outpace them. Makes it hard to respect that kind of sailing and I fail to see the attraction in it

Does every wave sailor or freestyler you see on the water absolutely rip Bails??
I would say not.
Just as every one who is trying to go fast aint finian.
Also speed sailing/sailing on flat water is usualy the first step after learning to water start.
Think about it before bagging people noddy chops

Oh gawd am I reading the kite forum now? Are we dissing 'wakestyle' or 'unstrapped' because it's not 'core' enough?

Ferchrissakes we're all different, how about we respect each others differences and enjoy the fact that there's enough of us to support an industry. That same industry allows me to wander off to the shop and pick up a uni joint, and it doesn't matter whether I'm going to use it for speed, flatwater, or freestyle.

I respect the mobbers who regularly sail 5 knots quicker than I can (in the same conditions) and I also respect the wavesailors who slash and burn far better than I ever have.

After all, it's the stoke that's important, not how others view us. Get it any way you can

I'm fairly new to this gig but was out there yesterday at Peli Point with some pretty good gusts, feeling the stoke, thinking this feels pretty damn fast. Maybe you could have gone flying past me, plenty did. I guess it was just lucky you didn't go flying past as Slowboat and Claude deicded to go off the wind. My mind boggled as these guys crossed my bow going twice as fast as I was in knee high chop (>35k). Seems sooo easy for me to respect that and in no way diminishes my respect for a double forward or some crazy freestyle move. In fact I feel a stoke just from seeing it up close, can't imagine the stoke from doing it.

Yes

I have seen the light.

I'm a born again Wavepig

I shall make it my Huey given duty to convert as many flat water sailors to wave riding

There can never be to many people at a wave break and if I can convert 1/2 the Flat water population to waves I'm sure we can at least double the amount of people at any given wave break

I think I shall also do my bit for the environment by videoing all our local secret spots and posting them on U-tube so that our northern hemisphere windsurfing family don't have to travel to such remote breaks. Thus saving their time and saving all that petrol they would use driving to distant locations when they could sail with a vibrant friendly metropolitan crew

Help the cause, if you have any video of a secret wave spot, post the video and Google Earth location so we can spread the good word of wave sailing, the more people we can convert from the flat water to the waves the better

OK. Imagine an icypole. It has 2 parts- body, and stick. Now imagine a human body and a section of mast inserted at the bottom. Human popsicle.

That could, in theory, happen to somebody who revealed secret wave spots to the world

Of course I would never condone such action

With a look of pure unadulterated innocence on his face, He asks....

I thought you wanted all the flat water sailors to go wave sailing???

It's the ultimate expression in the sport (or so I've been informed).

I think overall there is more flat water sailors in Aust than there are Wavies so the more known wave spots the faster the conversion.

Europe has waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy more flat water sailors, imagine how great wave sailing could be in WA if we can get more of them over here, at least triple the numbers.

Jesus was nailed to a cross for asking people to be nice to each other.

If becoming an Elmo Popsicle is the greatest sacrifice I can make in my role as a Born Again WavePig then it's a small price to pay.

Re mast sellection

In the 20(odd) years I've been in sales, I've had my freckle reemed out that many time by professionals who were pissed of with me I've lost count of the rebushing's.

Forget the RDM, I doubt a SDM will touch the sides
