Birth of a cabbage patch kid, I was going to say a vegetable but that would be inappropriate, so I won't.

it's ok son , being a windsurfer i understand you can draw silly little yellow pants but can't handle a little harmless jab back . One day you'll grow into a man and realise there is more to this world than a red thumb .

Mark_australia demonstrates his fool-proof and simple method of separating a stuck mast.

1) Dig a hole equal to 1.5 times the length of a mast
2) Insert small child into base of hole

Out of those maxed out with green thumbs I have to go with LeStef as the winner, I can see my mate and his son going out to the farm one day and trying it. Plus he had a good laugh at that one when I showed him the comp.

136.54 m ! New canon-boy world record !

And an honourable mention to Bondalucci - but I couldn't quite bring myself to handing the comp back to a windsurfer on the back of...

"Say it ain't so boy, or I swear, you'll never see the light of day again !"

"OK,OK, sorry dad !

I take it back!

Umm, not sure if I should tell Anita, anyone work for child services on here???

I was helping a mate dig a hole for a patio post, from memory we needed the hole an inch or two deeper than the shovel could scoop out so one of the kids got that last scoop out with an ice-cream container. I think we were too lazy to get the hacksaw or a longer shovel and Lachie was the perfect size, his little sister was too little, her hands were too small to scoop the dirt out .

A message from the anonymous parent in the photo

Hey Chris, good choice for winner and for the exact right reason. We are currently building a cannon to attempt such a world record. Ha ha. Some excellent captions. Everyone would be happy to know Lachlan has grown up and he now lowers me down the hole.

I like Mark_Australia:

I said NO you can't play with Granddad.
We've dug him up twice today already, get out of the grave and do your homework
.

Very clever Bender:

Some of Hardies counciling treatments were a bit out there but he got results much to his industry peers surprise.

But my favourite of all is:

PhilSWR:

Whilst deemed inhumane and shunned by child protection services, the human jackhammer has proved surprisingly effective and popular. This model, the Little Timmy 200, is a firm favourite with many owner-builders on a budget. For harder, more compact ground, you may need a teenager or more robust child.

It reminds me of Tim Allen on Tool Time revealing a new digging tool.
