I've got VHS version of "Trade winds" on DVD if anyone wants to borrow it.
Oooh, me me me me me! Over here!
I'd also like to get a copy of Heart and Soul. I definitely vote for movies like Tradewinds and H&S, which both seem about the spirit as much as about the moves.
Personally I'd like to see more movies about the sort of sailing that "normal" people can do. Some people have fantastic lives in normal places and have no wish to up sticks and move to Maui. For them/us, seeing what a Maui pro can do is about as relevant as it is for a keen golfer to know that some guy on a space station drove a golf ball 1000 miles. It's got nothing to do with what we can get into unless we sold the kids and moved to Hookipa. I always used to find more inspiration in watching what the pros could do in the comps here or in Europe, than what they could do at Jaws or somewhere similar.
Of course, the catch is that it's much harder to make a good movie about sailing in less than perfect conditions.
