Its ironic that I usually am the only one out but last sail when I maybe could have needed help there were others..I don't know that they could have done anything anyway but I must admit I am a bit nervous about going out alone now in case I break gear etc..I felt invincible before and thought "the lake isn't dangerous.." Getting old and ..what's the song.." help me if you can I'm..."
What went wrong sailing on the lake by yourself, equipment failure? i'm often out on narrabeen lake by myself, and thought not much to worry about.
Sailng out at the next closest spot, say longreef / fishermans, by myself spooks me. When I first moved here I used to go out there a lot, but then heard too many sharky stories, like that kid up at Avalon getting his leg mauled. I then typed in shark + long reef into youtube and wish I had't bothered....
It's a really nice spot too, gets a southernly when the lake is not blowing. Is this an irrational fear?
EDIT: at the end of this video, where some guys are all laughing and joking about not beeing eaten alive, is where i used to rig from.
