For freeride/wave foil at your size your biggest sail should be between 5-6 at most, my last finding... severne foil freak is amazing for that. High aspect, super short boom, you can start practicing your foil duck jibes.... I'm a 62 kg, 3.1 and 4.4 is all I need to cover 7-30kn.
If money is not an issue, foils made huge improvements from the days of infinity 76/99, those big /draggy foils do give you lift/stability, but the drag eats the power and make flight slow, slow
Yes I've been looking at these Severne Foil Freeks. Maybe a 5 m 6 would be nice, but the perhaps too close to my 6 m 5 Severne Gator. Don't know.
7 knots is really low with a 4 m 4. I wonder how you do this.
Yes I know the Infinity 76 cm / 84 cm / 99 cm are old and slow.
For the moment going slow is not a problem. I like going slow. Fast seems a bit scary.
But indeed after getting a new board next thing will be :
- or a foil specific sail like the Severne Foil Freek
- or a foil like the PTM 926 - 872 to fit with an adaptor on my aluminum Hover Glide mast + maybe a wider lager foil like 1100 or 1250 Sabfoil or something similar of Slingshot. Are these good moves ? Any ideas.
