Guys some of those pictures are unbelievable! Amazing work! I was just wondering if anyone else has the problem of getting decent pictures. When it is good not many people are willing to put their hand up for sitting on the beach and taking photos. Having said that though, even if my best days were photographed they wouldn't compare to the photos of you animals ripping into it!

Definitely. On our recent trip a few shots were taken of me. I had a good session, a little air, a few slides, some decent snaps. All the photos that were taken were just trimming along, waiting to set up something. I said to the photog, "when I do a bottom turn, right after that is when I'm going to do a nice top turn so you know when to press the button". She said something about knowing that, but it never seemed to work. Or maybe I'm just a kook and all the turns are in my head and really I just trim along like a mal rider .

I did get a few decent shots a few years back when a guy used to come down to Perth's favourite beach break every morning and take shots of randoms for his website. Someone noticed me in some shots and pointed it out and I contacted the guy and he sent me some sequences. Not sure where they are now, plus I don't want to be IDed on the magical interweb.

That waves a cracker torch! Great stuff.
By the way stoked to see everyone in the surfing forum has stopped arguing and are sharing shots of sick barrels instead!

So how big is this thing of Torch's? I reckon that's easy 10-12 although no doubt someone will call it for 6-8.
The caves would've been getting damp in a swell like that, keyhole would've been a bit of fun too.
Got dragged out there once by my eldest brother in a swell like that and I gotta say I'd be in no hurry to do it again.
Tis a very different beast at 10ft in comparison to 6.
Kudos to you Torch

Pfft! That's 4'.

I would've called it at 10'. Surfed it once when we had a three day stretch of 8-10', except I was 16 and shoulder hopping, not taking a deep line like Torch.

Know what you mean Legion I was 14 when Pete shamed into paddling out that day. I didn't even shoulder hop just sat out there in awe watching him and the rest of the ferals get mindlessly shacked.
There was a goat boat out there too, absolute nutter, paddled straight out sat about 10m inside the boys, took off, got flogged. Then did the same thing about another half a dozen times before throwing in the towel.
Peter spent three or four years up there and reckoned he only saw it bigger once. I've been up there a heap of times since but never seen it bigger than about 6ft since.
Mind you I've been alright with that

It was my first trip up there in 2006, went for 10 days, the boys were calling 10 to 12 foot.

This photo was my last wave for the trip.

Knowing the boys had gotten out and standing on the cliff watching, and there was a camera in the rocks I paddled deep and took off on the first wave of the bomb set. I made it most of the way across but had to kick out on the end section where it got fat

I sh!t my hole!

Any way getting into the key hole I smashed my knee and ripped out my glassed in fins and filled my arse with sea urchin spines. Spent the next week on the couch with an ice pack on the knee

SICKEST trip ever!!!!!

Torch you're an ANIMAL! Can I ask mate, were you born an animal or did you turn into an animal? Either way, you're an animal! I agree with the other guys, that's an incredible wave. I have no shame in saying I'd get scared just standing on the edge there watching someone out there; incredible stuff!
