It was enjoyable. I see he rides a Van Straalen . The McCoy bit was good. Both he and Terry Fitz had the two most prestigious board companies in Australia back in the day. I bet he flogs those T Shirts for a premium price though.

I liked it too Snakeman.

All of it. I was part of that early culture but it has never really hit me that it was anything special.

it was just what we did. That young guy is cool though, he seems to have his head in a good place.

Thanks.

Always have to respect peoples opinions. He is obviously passionate about that period in surfing and he is doing something with that passion.
Good on him!!

im sure your brother in law is well qualified in these matters but im inclined to listen to the bloke who did the operation and he said 6 weeks. nearly 4 weeks now so when I went to school that leaves, oh, hang, let me think, about 2 weeks left

don't know if your having a dig but there are so many different types of hernias

I had a mate who got one and was in pain straight away. small too. got the op, couldn't walk for a week and half, but was back into 3 weeks.

mine didn't hurt at all, but its 6 weeks. his was lower abb. mine was upper abb. he got stitched, I got mesh. etc etc.

a high % of males get it at some time. more likely the older you get.

its one of those things you don't think of until it happens to you

I liked it. And I agree McCoy doesn't get the credit he deserves. In my neck of the woods having a McCoy was it. I claimed a mates Lazer Zap because he never surfed and for a lot of eighties would grab it from his garage, go for a surf and return it. I went back there about five years ago thinking that board would still be in the rafters. His parents had sold it three months earlier. I was gutted as I was the only bloke who'd surfed it really and it was in mockery mouse condition.

Anyway, I love my surf history, and he seems to be living it and pursuing it. Good on him.

He can wear a leggie though; he will hurt someone sooner or later.

Nah - he couldn't surf. Looks like a useless kook. Not throwing enough water at all.

Wicked pics, cobra. Living in regional WA I never had the opportunity to see anything like that. Great memories to have.

Horan could have surfed anything, but having said that, I jumpe on the Zap wagon as a 12 year old and it helped me out heaps at the time. Great boards, wish I still had it today.

Great video, much respect for what he's doing. The history of our sport is rich and vibrant with sooo many characters and we are pretty fortunate that it's well documented and guys like this dude and others who put the time and energy into it then share it are doing us a great service in my opinion.

And Lacey....what actually is a hipster ?

I read a write up on him on Swellnet the other week - it's under the News section on their website. It's a bit more insightful than the vid.
