They're beautiful looking boards. I've got an old pic of me with a 5'8 MR twinnie . I'll have to dig it out and put it up. Had a few of them . So whats the go with the new ones Lacey do they have 5 plugs ?

Nar. Not as a standard but you can ask for them.

Every one reckons I should ride the 6 ft er as twinnie with a trailer but I've got enough to sort out without adding another facet hey ted

I don't think he's made a bad one Lacey.

Kinda miss his shop down here. Was always good to have a walk through. It was a proper old school surf shop. Full of boards, skaties and one single rack of clothes in the corner.

Im kinda rapt to be getting a few of his.

I only had one twinnie as a young'n.

But what a board it was. Still one of the best ive ever had

Never had one, but several mates have had pretty much every variation of his and they all rate them. I asked him for a six channel, double flyer, 6' twinnie and he refused to make one. Lol

Guess it depends on your definition of a fish. Calling a rose a daffodil doesn't make it a daffodil. I will stick with my thesis - no such thing as a 7' fish.
Fishness for me is defined by performance and design parameters that NO 7' board can fulfill.

but I think you missed out on what I want the board to do. im not surfing threatening waves.

its a point wave that can be good but also have fat slow sections.

the flying fish rocker from what im feeling on the 6 ft er should be ideal for that type of wave. good speed and still handle sessions.

the board goes extremely well in top to bottom beachies.

the flying fish is mr top 2 selling boards. I reckon there is a reason for that

you go to hi end performance gunny at the alley and your going to suffer.

its actually a very hard place to get the right board for

cheers

No, I got it. I just don't think any 7' board can perform in a true fish style even if it has fish characteristics in its design. I think the nomenclature is inaccurate. A seven footer cannot turn or perform in the same way as a true 6' fish. I am not saying the board won't work, or be fun, but just that a seven foot board doesn't perform or feel like a proper fish board. It's not just about low rocker, wide and thick, wide point forward (in some designs) wide tail stuff. It's about shortness of rail line, skatiness, flickability and a tight turning radius. And a true fish is meant to do all that. It's design features work in bigger boards but they just can't turn or feel like a proper fish board.

And from I have seen on the Goldie you need boards like what you are looking at. Even 6' solid Snapper is a gutless fluff burger. Wide and thick should be mandatory.

oh, now I see where your at.

yeah I understand its not going to surf like a short fish.

to be honest I don't think my 6 ft er is a true fish at all.

cooly can be so many waves all in one wave but generally has a better shape then the alley

As in next week? next month? next year ?

Seriously sounds like you have it under control LL. Just make sure you give those AM2s a crack in the new board and goa touch thicker so I can grab the board when you are done!!! Went back to the original quad setup for a few days and it was amazing. Not in a positive way. The Nano is born to perform as an AM2. Next week when I have it in some decent waves will give it a real go and see what happens. Only surfed a little in recent months.
