i have to get of my arse go and see a good friend of mine and get some picks of his boards,
Lawrie Hohensee is his name and owns hohensee surfboards he was truly one of the pioneer surfboard operators in Qld (first surf shop in qld Mermaid beach in 63) and he was shaping back in 56 and his collection of old boards is mouth watering.

i will get some photos and info about his collection, he still makes boards i get the odd board of him and catch up for a game of pool, beer and chew the fat and he "rips me about the S** boards" love hearing about Peterson, drouyn, rabbit, Mc tavish. Hono's knowledge of surfboards is second to none and he still surfs every day and at 70ish that's gold

Thanks mate you blu me away with that one was just a grom back then wasn't meany kids not riding his boards for a couple of years then Guess didn't make much mony over here but no one has

Memories, I used to live in Hono's shop at Miami when I was a grom, The pic is the first shop which was at Mermaid diagonally across from the Cinema. His second shop was across from Miami High and Bob with the afro used to run it. I loved his boards and tried to buy some stickers off him recently over the internet but got no reply. I always see the odd Hono board around and would love to purchase one again one day.
