Stiff bushings are your friend with longboards. If you dont have them things get very sketchy in a hurry. Once you get upto speed the stiff bushings come alive.

Check out the Original S series trucks. No bushes, just an adjustable torsion spring. Interesting to get used to, but once you do, they're a whole new world. There is a slight effort to get them to turn, then almost an even pressure all the way to full lock. Unlike rubber bushed trucks, where the more turn you want, the harder it gets.

Caveat, haven't tried the Originals at more than about 40 kph......

everything I know about longboarding, I learned from this guy :

Kadi, I don't know whether to (sniff) laugh (sniff) or drive up there and (sniff) smack you upside the head, but (sniff) no wait, I'm going to ride my (sniff) longboard up there after I adjust the back trucks to turn right faster........ sniff........

Nice boards boys...

And I agree with MR for a cruiser the originals are great, turns skating on the flat into a whole lot of fun.

Wooo there horsey, I didn't undermine you, old mate in the shop took the advice of the other customer, I told them I had no idea about such things.

Was thinking today about calling them & telling him he set us up with a dodgy setup.

Nice boards lads, but a tad short..... You really need at least 60 inches for a good cruiser.......

Not finished yet, but has Original S10 trucks with 75 mm or 97 mm wheels. Taking orders, one month turn around and just a little cheaper than a new McT Jarrah with an American white Oak stringer.

That is really nice MR, build thread would be great..

Planted her on the grass today & practiced a bit of cross stepping & general moving around the board, neighbour looked over with a confused look on her face, shook her head & walked away.

^^^^ Funny that, I got pretty much the same reaction from my wife when she first saw the board and heard the word 'idiot' as she walked away chuckling to herself.

But she's pretty cool about it all, always says 'boys will be boys'.
