boarder paul said...I always forget about my request about a knee board? i have a shaper here who can do one but i dont think i trust that shaper as he has not done one before
Any way of getting any plans for a modern or old school board?
If i was not such a poor surf shop owner i would come over and grab one
Someone on here was selling one, but lost where it is at
Not sure why i am gravitating towards old school mals and knee boards

maybe something to do with haveing fun rather than having to perform
BP, try googling Island Surfboards Phillip Island Vic. Kevin is the man to talk there, specialises in kneeboards. Both my kneeboards shaped by them. Currently newies go for around $700- give or take depending on what you want, same price as a shortie. They aslo have a range of secondhand ones.
Will get some pics of mine and upload them. One is 6'2 x 23 1/2 x 2 1/2, single to double concave rounded pin, thruster setup, the other 6'8 x 22 3/4 x 2 3/4, single concave to v rounded pin, twin fin. 6'8 can be ridden as a standup. Both made by Neil Luke who has since moved on.
Nothing hard for a decent shaper, usual length starting at 5'10 upwards but wider at 22" to 24" wide, fins set forward more for centre of balance on knees. You don't ride em with ya bum resting on you heels.
Just as a matter of interest the yanks put their fins further back but the aussies kick their ass so go figure.
Fin placement on 6'2. Side fins 49 cm from centre of rear fcs plug to tail from centre of board Three fcs plugs for centre fin 24 cm from centre rear plug to tail. Currently using PC 7's allround but sometimes throw a smaller centre in as a trailing fin.
6'8 Future boxes 32 cm from rear of slot to tail. Running Sea Shepherd twin keels.
Hope this helps
