Well I think that Harbour is a good price for a secondhand board that's never been surfed although he's a bit over the top as far as his retail estimates are concerned.
he quotes $1600 retail and another $150 for the bag.
My local shop has that exact same board brand new with a $1495 sticker on it and I know for sure that they will always throw in a quality bag and a rope at no additional cost if you pay the sticker price.
Hell, the last board I got from them they reduced it by $100 and I still got all the fruit.
The problem with these tuflites as I see it is that they really probably only cost a few hundred to make, if that, when you take into account the labour costs where they are made. Fair enough they need a lot of additional cost to get them to a market however, you must never forget the cut that should go to the shaper.
They're almost always big names and they deserve to be rewarded for their designs and lending their name to the boards.
But that should only ever be once when the board is first sold, after that, their only reward is knowing that others may see the board, think it's a good'n and go out and buy a new one themselves so the the shaper can be rewarded again.
I think that's why they are always so expensive when they are secondhand, it's as if you must keep rewarding the shaper when in fact the poor bugger gets no direct resale rewards.
Hey bro,
The 10' Harbour retails for $1595.00 in 2010.
Not sure what your local is doing at $1495 - maybe 2009 stock ?
Anyhow, board is mine - board is new and never ridden and a steal if someone in longboard land wants a cruiser.

I agree, it's an excellent price and I had my fingers poised over the numbers ready to ring, but in the end I figured it was just too much like my existing 10' board.
Much to the dismay of BB, I think he carries a picture of it in his wallet

And that local shop of mine always does the best prices on tuffys.
