Sorry Sm and the boys to hijack your thread but thought it might save up thread space just to ask a Q. here. Whats your take on a 10ft McTavish Redline?

Predominantly looking for something to tryout noseriding even if Perth waves aren't really suited for it. Researching says it should be ok for what I'm after and for $550 board bag and all it seems like a good deal. If alls well, the next part would be finding a place to store it

Your thoughts? Mac? Cheers guys.

I have a very nice 10 foot redline at home, not mine tho, geez you blokes need to move, waves are crap for your shortboards and also for a noserider,I'd be out of there.

Just needs the swell to pick up mate, then the reefs start cranking. Just too bad the beachies are too straight at the moment. Atleast crowds are a minimum?

Atleast you blokes over there have waves all year round to justify getting boards as nice as the ones you all post up!

hey SMH Im looking at getting a McT custom. Im not real keen on the big M on the nose, is the discreet mctavish logo on your board an option when you order. Oh and also does it cost more for a tint than for a spray.

Stuk you can request the small logo which is what I did and the tint pigment combo is an extra $160. A spray is cheaper but im not too sure how much. I'm not real keen on the big M either.
What are you ordering ?

Same dims as macs lime spider but in the FB pintail. Although I'm attempting a cost neutral board ie: I'm sellin some crap through ebay first

I've been giving my new board plenty of thought....

I still like that tail dipped Blue Heaven Splice... Milk Tint & Blue
http://www.mctavish.com.au/surfboards-buy/performance-longboards/g2-longboard-gun/g2-18033

Doggie thinks plain white...

9'6 x 22 x 3. Cruiser Gun...
Only 2 logos. I'll ask for the Rincon 68 Logo, front. Small Square McT logo on the bottom.

Single Stringer...

But pretty much the same as the one on the link, except slightly different logos, and at 9'6.

Well Mac loves all things McT for a start....Simondo as well!

Is it the pintail or squaretail you are looking at? $550 sounds like a great price if it is in good nick. Especially with a cover thrown in. 10ft though is a massive board!! I stole this from their website for ya - seems like it should do everything you need. I think you should seriously consider it.

The Redline is our most popular retro style board, partly because it looks amazing, and also because it performs!! The Redline has a flat rocker profile, so nose-riding and trimming is a breeze, but the tail has a hard edge, so the board turns with a modern feel, and is forgiving in anything up to about 4-6 ft. The triple stringers give the board a great balanced feel, and the tint or pigment lamination gives the board a classic look.

Gee That gun is nice.

@ new guy Ted is right 10 ft is a lot of board I have 10ft plus takayama and it's a beast. Also volan glass job so heavy as too. But. I love it, great nose rider and the thing actually turns even with the egg rails... so don't be put off just know its going to be heavy and a lot of board to turn but the trade off is stability when your trying to move around it.

But if I your just learning a 9ft board is probably your best bet.

Model T.. Navy blue tint on bottom and rails, white deck, with black pin lines.
It is a never sell, I bought it maybe 10 years ago after hunting for a while, at the time they weren't that common so when I saw it I snapped it up. I'll take some pics next time its out, maybe tomorrow and post up a few pictures.

Classic model . I really like their long boards. I have a 10 foot single fin as well and would not get rid of it. A 10 footer to many sounds big but no drama once you get used to it and it really gives you an edge when it's crowded.

There's another model called the Double Ender with a slightly pinched nose and an area pin with a single fin that looks good and the NR2 and if you check the HPD Australian website the are 2 new Nat Young models. Beautiful boards the lot of them.

model T classic

You want it?
Na it's A beast and

I hate it sometimes and doesn't help that at my weight i could ride a cup winner. the volane glass adds kgs and ther'es no way you'd take it overseas...... But
then I get one and all goes right its a dream.. Love the weight when your hunting a nose ride or the swell is weak.....but no way you could surf it every day.. But it's a hand shaped volan glassed tak.. What do you do ?? Buy it I'd hang it on the wall ... But it's a surfboard... Not art..
See confusing boards and don't start me on the old school rails... But it's a great board.. And I would love a 9'0 but despite years off looking haven't found 1.

And that gun my dims would be 8'6 x 20. 75.and... However fat you are but for me just over 2.5 but under 2.75..
Actually chop a foot of that, he much fun would that be around 7'8 x 20.5 and 2 and 5/8 th's
