Fin Soup was a cook off which called for two cups of both fined and un-finned ingredients, a cut of surf-swap, a dash of live music and one dozen shapers. Hailing from the corners of San Diego, Costa Mesa, Los Angeles, and as far as Japan, the most renowned chefs came by to demonstrate and show us what they have been cooking up and takin out...
*Note: Fin Soup is best enjoyed chilled with one fin.

Really enjoyed the Valla \ Joske clip. A mate who I first started surfing with went on holidays up there years back with his parents to a holiday park at Valla beach. I remember him telling me when he got home how good the beach breaks are there. Nice part of the Mid North Coast and not overly built up.

SMH, Valla is a shocker of a place if you break down in the carpark... long walk.... And funnily enough has happened twice... but that bit of coast is awesome, and Valla c'van park used to have a bar in the premisies...
hopefully be up there next week or so for a few days around Scotts..

Deus noseriding comp at Malibu, should get us through the arvo...



Last Friday we had the great opportunity of sponsoring a new event at Malibu Surfing Association's 2012 Malibu Classic—a timed nose-riding competition with some of the biggest players in the surfing world battling it out for toe-hanging supremacy on one of the finest noseriding breaks in the world. Winner Harrison Roach and the runners up all went home with vintage 70's single fin boards as prizes. The higher you placed; the less water logged your trophy. Also on the day was the first iteration of surf tag at the Malibu Classic. Our Aussie friends from Foam Symmetry won the event. We entered a team and didn't necessarily win, but got some serious points for having some good ol' fashioned fun. All in all, Friday was a "competition," but at the end of the day everyone agreed it was a gathering of friends out in the sunshine with perfect waves and nobody out!
