i wonder if all the doping etc may have had something to do with his cancer.

you would put your body through some weird **** to get those levels of performance

Interesting Lacey. Only Lance could provide an answer to that... Whether there was performance enhancing pre-cancer diagnosis... I understood it was post cancer diagnosis... but what would I know! I don't know! Would you believe him if he said the enhancements started after cancer...?

Seriously, if a foundation aimed at helping cancer sufferers is doing a great job then who gives a f$$$ where the motivation for its beginning was.

1 year ago almost exactly I watched a great Man who gave to so many (700 at the funeral!) die a horrific death from it. I don't care who's name is on it as long as someone has the motivation.

I mean look at the Bayer company, a world wide conglomerate that made a lot of profit manufacturing the poisonous gas used to kill millions of Jews. Does anyone not buy Bayer products now?? Extreme example right, but just saying that this is doing good not bad and you want to judge some dude in silly pants and shaved legs and criticise Livestrong because of it????

Ps. Find out what he was on and give it to them all, it obviously brings you back after the Chemo and radiation.

Some great points and posts, good to hear others views and i just admit I'm kinda supporting the Jail thing more and more after Chrispys post.... Actually I'm starting to think **** it hit him with everything and just make his life hell... Which it will be anyway, he is going to have a tough future.

IMO He should never be able to compete in anything again, sued of every possession he has ( which won't happen, I'm sure he had a smart accountant) and made to work very hard for anything he gets in the future but receive no profit from his illegal activities, is it not proceeds from a crime?

I watched Tyler Hamilton interviewed this morning and he raised a good point.
The big question is, now that he has come clean, if he doesn't name those that helped, hid it and supported it does the admission mean nothing?

He won't go to jail

Foundation was set up after the first or second tour I thing.

I thing the foundation will still stand and give people the hope, or at least I hope it does. The stories while originating with lance are more than just his story now but the stories of everyone that's been apart of the foundation.

In the end of the day he may have cheated, lied, been a prick but he had a terminal cancer and then fought back and rode the tour 9 time plus a bunch of other races and now does triathlons. Does it make any of it right, no, but its still pretty impressive if I wanted something to give me hope it wouldn't be a bad place to start.

Another fraud hero, absorbing all the attention, making a motsa, while many nice people caught in bad circumstances (e.g. homeless, abused, etc) suffer without assistance. That's not news, it's a circus.

My wife read an article, and it seems to be confirmed that he was on 'everything' before cancer... Make you wonder if it did bring on cancer... Who knows... just speculation at this stage...

one of the strangest things ever is the noble peace prize, the guy who produced nitroglycerin.

yes, he still did way wrong and thats a fact

livestrong is a good thing.

bikie christmas runs for charity is a good thing. doesn't stop them from murdering people, dealing in drugs etc

interesting read in light of your comments, from his former mechanic ....... livestrong was very big in "raising (lance's?)awareness" how much they contributed to cancer sufferers may well be another.....?

a bit more from greg lemonde's wife

Hi All,
Great response and many valid points. If I can just change the track for a second.
I'm not condoning his cheating, nor all the others that were doing it, but I believe he would still have won a few tours without the juice, as he was a great rider anyway. The juice can't turn a good rider into a great rider, no matter what you take.
