I'm might have to become a late exclusion.

I've irritated my neck and pinched the radial nerve where it comes out of the spine. So aside from a sore neck and shooting pain in my shoulder, I also have no feeling in the thumb, fore finger, and half the middle finger. Needless to say the Physio has kyboshed all things fun atm.

If it gets magically better some how I'm there, but I'm not holding my breath.

PS the worse this has gotten the better the forecast has looked.

Im sorry to say that you wont be going cRaZy
I had the same thing about 18 months ago and its pure hell. Took a solid six months to get it right again, and even then I had to be carefull that I didnt over do it. I did mine with a solid week of surfing at my fave reef break.
The pain is bullsh!t and its so hard to get comfortable when sleeping or lying down so forget camping

Get friendly with your physio mate, its a long recovery

yep - sounds about right.

Physio know's me well after 2 shoulders, various back injuries, 1 knee issue and a ankle. If he had kids I would have helped put'm through school

Side topic to road trips - what's with the fighting in Byron I'm reading about, I thought it was a laid back hippy town

Yes Mr Prawn its been improving everyday of late.....starting to get excited now. The winds although not from the most preferred quarter should be light. I am hoping for some lovely clean conditions from early on till mid day ish.

Hope to share a few waves with you Friday morning and maybe some beers Thurs evening if I can get away from work early enough tom.

Anyone else making the trip? Has Boofy decided to come and bring a few crew from the north?

I am out Ted, new job this week and have an orientation day to morrow and start Monday, you mentioned that you may be up here in the near future hope we could all catch up then

Are you sure its no Makaha?

Cheers guys - we will miss you all - well it would have been great to meet ya over some beers, a campfire and some waves. But sometimes things do not go according to plan. One day soon it will happen I am sure.

In the meantime I shall look on the positive side - there will be more waves to go around

So Prawnhead hows it looking this morning? a few feet and clean and offshore? Looks like conditions should build a bit over the next few days. I am going to bail from work early and make a mad dash this arvo - so should be there for beers around the fire this evening and the dawnie in the morning.

2-3 feet water temp 19-20 swell is a bit messy on the open beaches looks like a combination of swell from the south and increasing from the east which is generally the best diriection
i imagine it will be 2 foot and clean at the point,
didn't rain yesterday, scattered cloud not threatening and looks ok .
bit chilly last night temp wise too
plenty of bream around pippies and worms seem to be the go although the old pilchard tail never fails
i probably won't get there till after dark and have to work friday but have enough time for a few beers and an early surf
i will collect some driftwood on the way if you have a fire pit ted
i'll pm you my contact details

Surf trips are expensive. I'm doing a day trip on Saturday and all my mates have piked. I've probably got one spare seat. Leaving ~6am. Returning sometime in the arvo or maybe evening. Sometimes I can surf for 8 hours, sometimes 3. Depends on conditions etc. so be prepared to sit on the beach and read a book etc. if you're not fit or motivated. On the other hand, if I get bored and you want to stay, I'm going and you're hitching. You've all seen the forecasts so you all know where I'm going. Probably some others from here will be there too.

Meet time: I'm leaving my house by 6am, so I'll pick you up whenever I reach yours *.
Bring: surf equipment. I've got heaps of room so you can probably take two boards if you have to. A bucket or tub for wet stuff (or use mine). Sunscreen or whatever. A hat if you're going to be sitting around.
Food and drink: I will have a fridge and will take snags, bread, sauce and a BBQ for lunch (maybe salad etc). Bring whatever drinks you like, there's enough room. I don't care if you drink beer, but if you get messy that's not on. I will probably take some breakfast for me, take your own or get up early and eat beforehand. Tell me what you want to bring and I'll decide which fridge to take (big or small).

Don't be offended if I hate you and don't talk to you. I'm antisocial. Could be a long drive. There'll be someone else to talk to though. Another "internet friend".

I don't care if you can or can't surf, but I don't particularly want people who don't know etiquette. Things that will be frowned on include paddling for the shoulder when someone's on a wave. Wear it. On the other hand, I'm a wave hungry pig and can be aggressive in the water. I doubt it's going to be competitive though. In fact, I'm going to this place to avoid crowds and I'm generally much more easy going when there are a handful of people. I am a product of Perth's more competitive locations though, so I have a certain mindset.

I don't care if you ride a booger, surf, or goat boat. No SUPs or mals though. Nothing against them, but I can't be fscked strapping them to the roof at 6am. Boards etc will fit in the car. Actually, if you can convince me you can tie it on quickly, then no problem. I'll be sitting in the warm car though.

I don't care if you're 20 or 60. I'm somewhere in the middle, as is the other passenger.

I don't want to have to rescue anyone so you should be capable enough. Having said that, it's hardly going to be 6'. More like 3'-4' if you're lucky. Probably smaller.

I won't fsck around when I get there. I don't want to drive all day. Anything half reasonable will be game on. If you don't like where I'm paddling out, bad luck. If you have a reliable secret spot in the neighbourhood, we can check it out. I generally check a couple of spots and that's it.

Fuel donations appreciated. Costs me about $75 + food to do this trip. My motivation to extend the invitation isn't to share set waves, it's to help out with an expensive trip. But you never know, I'm capable of friendly conversation and general anti-SUP banter. If you can't contribute then that's no problem at all - I would've gone alone anyway and we are all poor at one time or another.

Send PMs to avoid embarrassment when I refuse to take you. If I don't answer, I've already filled the spot. I'll update this thread when that happens. Preference given to long term members who I've got a feel for. suba is allowed as long as he snaps a board.

Zuke gets first preference, but he might not want it in the interests of privacy.

* depending on where you live.

Okydoky, Lfish is up there, Ted should be there by now, I'm all nice and tucked up in my jimmyjams with the clowns faces, I have my favorite teddy at my side and I'm off to the land of nod.

No more road trip promised, next time we will have a trip report thread, for better or for worse.

No phone service there Mac, so guess is we might get an update later if the go into Creso.I'd guess surf would be 3ft, wind not to bad but not perfect, id guess pretty good waves with less than 5 in the water..

my other prediction is OBCT has embraced the dark arts and loving the new found glide of Teds GFs 666

they would be getting surf as the swell is marginally larger than yesterday and has more east in it....but they are also getting wet a*ses as it has been drizzling rain since yesterday on and off ..
i canned it as i don't normally use a tent , 3-4 beers sitting at home in the warm took care of the rest..
