Managed to demo some boards over the weekend all from the 1 shop which was real handy.

Sat 1-2ft on-shore wind

- Fanatic - Allwave 9'6"
Real easy board to use handled the chop real well felt like I could do anything on this board. But it just felt a bit thick to me and not enough glide great for starting out in the waves great beginners board. - Not for me

- Channel Islands Caddi 10'
Not a bad board found it a bit bouncy would be fine in clean conditions - Not for me

Sun 1-2ft clean

- Laguna Bay 10'2"
Once I found my feet on this board I just couldn't wipe the smile off my face, got loads of waves I felt really comfortable taking off, turning, was loose but controlled, walking too the nose seemed natural, even rode the whitewash with ease and didn't catch a rail this board is awesome. I was taking of on the set waves with controlled drops SBer hooting so I must have been doing something right the board just seemed to fit me well.

Also seems to tick all the boxes I could take this out in the baysurf, rip in nice waves & cruise LB style. This board's top of my list.


So so far the Laguna Bay 10'2" would be the pick, I'm contemplating the 11'2" just for some added stability, glide & LB ability but not sure if it will compromise too much on the surfability to the 10'2".

Any advise?


Also still hoping to demo the Laird/Pearson 10'6" & Coreban Icon 10'. But so far I really like the Laguna Bay and have only heard great things about this board, Surftech & Tully.

Yeah I kinda wished I got a longer PSH as I liked the board 1 size up probably would have made all the difference. For me the 9'11 had just too much water over my feet but ripped when on a wave...

I also think the ripper boards are a bit more SB style looking for something a bit more LB style at the moment longer pulled-in nose type shape...

I'd like to try the 10'4 WAA this might suit what I'm looking for in a board...
