Great images again David,
Props to the whole SUP Vic team all the sponsors and everyone elese it takes to put an event like that together.
I think close 100 competitors entered, I counted them as they paddled past me

.
Huge range of boards on display if you couldn't find a race weapon of war in amongst that lot then you were a bit stiff.
Thanks to the Dog Miester for kitting out Nesha with a Surftech super weapon and DJ for the loan of a leggie as one got left behind in the 5am mad scramble out the door.
I borrowed the Surftech Lopez 14 but didn't really do it any justice however I can say that even with 120 kegs on it super stable and cut nicely through the chop so if your a bigger unit give it a whirl and see how it goes.
It was my first time out on the water in one of these races and getting lapped by Cam and Luke seeing them power away is a pretty interesting experience.
The elite guys have their own race pretty much right from the start but there are 30 other rivalries happening at the same time.
I guess then theres people like me just wanting to get around the course and see what its like and what it takes to get there.
You definitely don't have to be Olympic standard to have fun.
Come along have a crack, try out a few board and enjoy the vibe!
Phill
