Hows the weather looking for Saturday 15-20 knot north westerly's . Almost worst possible wind we could ask for.

Can anyone confirm if we need a PFD?

Regan I think your looking at Saturdays forecast. The race is on Sunday.
Adam was there mention that the race could run from Secret Harbour if the winds werent right for the Cut or am I thinking of last weeks race? Any ideas of how many entries?
Cheers

Thanks a lot to Colin and Adam for organising the race on Sunday.

Am starting to think I need to sell my shorter boards and go longer as WA (Perth) has crap surf and excellent downwind conditions.

Race was 12.26km (by my GPS) with south south westerly blowing at about 10 knotts.

Not too many runners but still good fun.

Results were as follows:

1) Daniel (Belly) 1:29
2) Me (Reagan) 1:30
3) Luke (Jenkz) 1:40
4) Stewart 1:42
5) Adam (?) Sorry did not get your time
6) Cam Made it 6km up the Freeway then brokedown in his car

Thanks to Stewart for the lift back to the car and cold beers. Next rounds on me.

I didn't do any organising that was all Colin.
That was hard work, I think 4 races in the day may have been a bit much.
I'm glad you didn't get my time, It doesn't make for impressive reading!
A question for our tax expert, If Belly wins $50, declares it as income, does that mean he can claim depreciation and all expenses for sup?
(Now you can say being on seabreeze is work!!)

I made it a bit more than 6km in the car, I think you were thinking about my paddling ability. I am pretty sure I saw you drive past.

Was it only the 5 of you racing? Or did Colin and Mac make it after all their OCing in the morning?

At this rate Belly will be getting a new board pretty soon with all the loot he is winning.

Another good downwinder,Thanks Barts and everyone at Mandurah Outriggers club.

Well done Belly you were off like a rat up a drain pipe and out of sight in no time.

Akhawk a mammoth effort with 4 paddling races in one day and then take us all on undergunned on the 11'2"

Jenkz couldn't resist scoring a wave over a reef midrace

Looking forward to some paddling technique sessions in the future.

Your not the only one thinking this way. I know Luke is looking at a 17' and I am interested in a 14-17' and so is Adam. The down side is I have to sell two other toys to get a new board, one being a 10'. It sounds like next summer is going to be fun with a few of us on bigger boards.

Yeah there was only five of us. The sixth bloke had some excuse about his car breaking down. I saw you on the side of the road but your bonnet wasn,t up on the car so I thought you were retying your board on. Have to get your mobile number. Actually this could be karma for putting Steve Hooker on a SUP instead of Angela Tsun....[}:)][}:)][}:)]
Harder race than the week before. Top effort to Adam for doing all those OC races in the morning and doing the stand up race in the arvo. I wish I had a camera to film him weaving up to the sign off tent

Are there any legal considerations such as having support boats etc?

Yeah I think you would get dobbed in by boaties[}:)] mowed down by a ferry or grabbed and fined by the cops especially crossing through the shipping lanes anywhere near Gage Roads.
Would be unreal though in the right wind and swell direction.

After a quick paddle on the weekend and now looking at a map a fun paddle could be from Point Peron along the back of Garden Island and into Freo. My guess is it would be about 15kms and once you rounded the tip of Garden Island it would be a good run into Freo.

Try 25km

13km to end of Garden Is. then another 12km into Sth Beach - looks good tho

I was thinking about the legal side of it too

If i have a PFD on and flares what would be the difference if i was in a small boat ?

I recon we...or I if no ones keen, do it and see what happens.. The days im thinking of doing it on there wont be many boats around.. 35+ knots..

But could be real dangerious without a support boat thats why i want to do it with a few crew..

Belly,
You keep winning races, putting that $50 each time away and before you know it we'll have our support boat
