Everyone is welcome to this and we would like to see many people from other regions come and join a day of fun on Race Boards. Race Boards and Surf SUPS will be on Demo.

We have put the invite out to all Shapers, Shops, and Distributors to have their boards at Kawana Lake on the 17th of June 2012. (if you are a shaper / shop / distributor and did not get an email please do not feel excluded as you just need to send me message and I will send you the info.)

We expect to have a large range of demos at the Lake for all to try. This is giving a fantastic opportunity for you to try different brands on the same day in the same conditions. You will also hear direct from the shapers, shops, distributors about all the pro's of their boards. Who knows you might even strike up a good deal with one.

Woogie will be giving a one hour open coaching session before the time trials.

Everyone who attends is welcome to have a go at the time trials that we have been posting for the last few months. Your name will end up on the "Leader Board" (where about is up to you). Try and knock Rusty, Lincoln and Jonsey out of the top three.

On top of this we are going to have some sprint races and for something completely different we will organise some SUP games. (Skirmish, Water Polo , Lacrosse come to mind)

Anyway if you are a Shop, Distributor or Shaper please feel free to post here what you are bringing.

Are you going to do it on that weapon of a 15'6" DC of yours. Sure Dale put a motor of some type in that board..

25 years back we would take a day off Uni at the drop of a hat. Good surf...hangover....big breakie. Didn't need someone to give it to me. Actually think I missed 6 months for Expo 88.

I wish engineering had the same volume of content as education! Believe me, no one spends the same amount of time in the water as me, when I'm not at Uni that is.....

I will email out a site map to all attendies. Your area will be a 6m x 3m marquee (your own) plus the space in front of that. It will be a straight line set up on the grass beside the tower. No spots will be allocated just set up beside each other when you arrive.

Drinks (water softdrink) and BBQ will be available. BYO you esky and anything else you need.

Prizes will be won with a full list posted soon. If you have some prizes let me know what they are.

Bomber Eye Wear is giving away three pairs of glasses.

You are welcome Dale and Mark. Great to see groups organising trials and races. The SUP 5000 event sound good also that I was just reading about. By having some events in flat water it really does attract a larger demographic of people and should help grow the sport.

The day looks like it is shaping up to be a bit of a SUP Expo. Was even talking to Brett in Japan who is going to have a range of inflatable SUP's there.

Hope a lot of people from other regions can make the trip. There will not be many better options to test gear in the same conditions on the same day.

Also just wondering... if we joined the Sunshine Coast Club for the Power of the Paddle in November last year are we still considered members for this event or do we pay the $10 for the day? (Thought there might be a few others in the same position too.)

PLEASE NOTE:

In keeping with our insurance policy, only people who are financial members can demo equipment or do the time trials on the day. You can pay $10 for day membership at the SUP Club Marquee if you are not a financial member. Please see Jennie under the tent.

When you arrive please check in with Jennie under the SUP club marquee so that she can mark you as financial so that demo groups can lend you a board. We have asked all those displaying craft not to let equipment out to those not marked as financial members. If you are from another region and raced at Coolum last November in the Ocean Addicts Power Of The Paddle, you are a current financial member.

Whilst at the registration tent Jennie will ensure you have signed the waiver and are also covered by insurance.

All financial members of our club are free of charge but must still sign the waiver on the day and be marked as financial by Jennie in the SUP Club Marquee

Agenda

8:30am people will be demoing craft.

9am: Woogie Marsh will be giving a one hour technique training session for all people interested. Others will still be deoming craft during this.

10:20am: We will start the 4.24km time trial. Others will still be demoing craft.

11:30am: SUP Games and still more demoing.

12:30am: Finish

This going to be fantastic with one of the biggest number of exhibitors / demos around. Check it out and it is getting biger. Don't miss it and this is a great chance to see what time you can do the lake in. These time trials are prooving popular nation wide with a lot of regions now doing them. All paddlers are welcome from all regions.
There are going to be some great boards to Demo. Whilst there tak to the suppliers if you are interested in a board. When else will you get a chance to demo a list like this on the same day in the same conditions.

For Exhibitors

Site Map: Please use up to a 6m x 3m marquee for your area plus the grass in front of your marquee. When you arrive please join on the line of other exhibitors. We have not made any particular order so it is a first in basis except for the food provider who requires power and water as shown on the site map.



Feel free to offer good, fantastic or unbelievable deals to anyone you wish, just keep in mind that we are all there in the interest of the sport and we ask that you only talk the positives and or negatives of only your own craft so to ensure the day is enjoyable by all those who have made the effort to attend.
