Why the change from Sunday 27th to Saturday 26th ?
Summer Series info was still showing Sunday mid week.
Counts me for one out unfortunately.
Sorry about the change Chris, not sure myself why it's come about; but I will find out why - we will miss you if you can't make Big Guy .
Thanks Berni, I know I'm a small fish in a big pond and there would be reasons for it - maybe another event on in Bondi on the Sunday.
It's my daughters 4th Birthday Party that day between 2 and 4 so if my wife is happy for me to be out in the morning I could do the 11am race and be gone by midday for home but I'll have to earn some points before that is suggested !
G'day Breezers just got an update from Dez from BLAST on why the date of Event #2 at Bondi had to move ...
'The Bondi team discovered there was an ocean swim event on at the same time. For the safety of all, they had to make the hard decision to move their event from Sunday 27th to Saturday 26th. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience but your safety is our primary concern, and having hundreds of paddlers cutting through hundreds of swimmers wasn't ideal.'
Sorry Chris but you may have to do the dash back to Tylah's Birthday ... hope you can make mate!
Fletch, I have asked for an update from the Race Director and hope to get that out soon. In the past this event has been held as 'The Cockatoo Cup' run by the Pacific Dragons - http://www.pacificdragons.com.au/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=121&Itemid=224 It was a handicap race last year, but I'm not sure of the format this year - I will post as soon as I know.
Pete, I have also asked for another update on the photos ... I suppose it takes time to airbrush your dial in all of those shots of you winning on the Ace! LOL
Just got email off Dez to inform Australia Day race has been moved to Botany Bay due to a swell of support. The first fleet sailed into botany Bay in their day so sounds good to me. I'm sure details will be up soon.
The Pacific Dragons also emailed today that their event is still on for Aussie day.... splitting the pack?
Hi Wayne, looks like a clash unfortunately ... but I suppose it gives punters a choice ... if they are interested in 5km or 2.5km sprints then come to Event 3 of the Summer Series or if they are interested in Handicap Racing then Pacific Dragons is the ticket!
