Was a great event last year and hoping to make it back this year!
Good to see the 'State vs. State' surfing component added so interstate competitors can surf without compromising the State qualifications.

SurfingNSW Can you confirm whether the State-v-State will cater for women as well - or will we be up against the guys if we want to surf?

Having just read the Surfing NSW info page I gotta say this looks like the absolute ducks nuts of Stand Up Paddle events thus far. Now, if you could just blow it out to five days in order to avoid multi event fatigue and get optimal conditions for every one, this could be the "must do event" of the year.

I take it you wont be entering the marathon, the technical race, the over forties surfing, the open surfing and the interstate shootout.

Won't you be at Phillip Island that weekend contesting the rescheduled Surfing Victoria State Titles for SUP Surfing?

Last Year at the Southern Cross SUP Festival Beau O'Brian took out the Open Men Marathon 14ft division. With howling westerly winds Beau said that it was the "best downwinder he has ever done"

Yeah it's going to be the best SUP event in Oz all year! Was up there yesterday with the boys for the Sydney Weekender promo and the venue/accomodation is first class. They even have a section of the resort where you can store your race boards.

May is a good time of the year for waves as well!

And some one else my get all NSW surfers in their heat and progress to the next round there for finishing above me in the finial placings I will miss out on the NSW team to go to Aussie titles because I was beaten by someone from interstate!!!Not sure but how can that work?

My understanding was that the state-v-state surfing component was being added separate to the NSW qualifying divisions to prevent that from happening this year?

But would love some clarification from SurfingNSW on how it could work? Maybe you can explain how the state-v-state works Luke?

As an interstate competitor I would love to compete, if the rules allow it, but totally understand that if interstate competitors are allowed there needs to be a way to make sure it doesn't compromise the chances of NSW competitors making their state team.

Pretty sure the State v State is a separate thing, plus you have reps for all divisions.

dont freak out!!!!!!!!

as the crew have said and surfing nsw will confirm

the interstate crew will only be in the state vs state mate vs mate division

and not the state qualifier

the coolest thing is a whole section of the conference room will be setup for board storage (and its a friggin big area set aside for all our gear) so bring ya quiver!!!!!!!

with 24 hr a day access to it "just for the chance" of a midnight paddle with a few strays after the doff doff clubs.....or for you bed ****ters crew that get up early to train at sparrows fart o'clock... its open ready to rock with 24hr security on deck.....

An awesome race last year. Let's hope we're lucky enough to get those conditions again.

Don't freak out about us Cane Toads we will be bunched up in our own heat to knock each other out. We are simply there to drink , surf and support the event. This place is Epic and could become the showcase venue for Sup surfing in Australia. Rock on....

I heard a rumour the Aussies might be on the Goldy this year (not in August).

Can feel a road trip coming for that one. Great call if true!

That being said the racing component is open to interstate and international competitors, only the top NSW competitors will progress to Aussies

Are you sure about the international competitors? Because that was not the case last year and I know a few people from NZ would like to come....
