So, I assume no fishing on the beach, no boats on the water....where does it stop ?

I got the stink eye at Sandon yesterday - 2 in the water and he had a go (note 2 in the water - not 12 / not 20 but 2 on a 300m length of reef....only reason I was there cause I was going from backside to MacAuley's and with 2 out and waves, why the hell not take advantage of it with only 2 out.
One guy paddled past and said 'you're not from around here are you F off'.
I said 'happy easter mate'.
He said 'I've surfed here every day of my life and I own it - F off'.
I said 'That's sad. You've missed surfing some great waves elsewhere - maybe start travelling and even take up SUP - happy easter mate'.
He didn't say anything else and I got some fun waves going wave for wave with both of them.....happy days in the surf zone....and grumpy people.
Surely common sense comes into play without rules .... the guys surfed shot 2 below at south end yesterday rather than mixing it with the crew in shot 1 .... no need for signs on the beach, just be smart about when and where you surf.
