Just being going through some of the guys in the pro divison and holy ** if anyone thinks there is going to be a easy heat they are dreaming!!!!!. By far the hardest looking comp so far!!!!!!

Forecast is looking ok there should be some good little surf on SAT and a bit smaller on sun but things could still change.

One more thing there is a team event on the Sunday and a tip is eat your weet bix.

When I spoke to Chad at surfing Qld he said there was 12 in the womens draw so it sounds like it will be competative also.

If they did shift it from currumbin where is it likely to go?

Reason I ask is we have accomm near the point and we wernt going to get a car?

Hey mate the comp will not be moved this year!!!

The set up is to much to be moving the comp around so we get what we get this year.

Yes there are good numbers in each divison and a heap more to enter, i can see some people missing out if they leave it to long.

To answer your question, boardies and maybe a 2.2 jacket and you will be fine.
Not unless a cold snap comes in,you wont need your full steamer just yet

hey dogman, waves have been small. the alley's been a bit strange of late, however what ever size- tight up against the rock is the go, good shape and when paddling back out keep an eye out for inside wider ones across the creek mouth.now, i'll bring the esky

ill bring something to fill the esky lacey .....liquid pain killers......lol....

had a bit of an incident over the weekend involving a wedding, alcohol, bands and golf cart rallying on the beach and have tweaked my neck solidly via a little bit of a crash test dumby styled ragdolling

just hope to make it to watch at the moment......but not giving up hope just yet

rock on

Good luck to everyone going in the comp, wish i could go in it, but its a no go for me, Jacko and Ang will put on an awsome event no doubt, i will be there next year though.
Hope the surf pumps for you guys, so people can really see what good paddleboarding is all about. By the looks of the footage i have been seeing recently it just gets better with every comp!!

I'm tipping Jackson Close if he's in it.

I watched him surf very average Currumbin beachy a couple of weeks ago and I will go as far as saying it is the best SUP surfing I have seen whether it be on video, photo or real life from anywhere ever full stop.

Even my missus said 'oh my god who is that?', then she noticed he was on SUP and said 'I thought he was ripping on a short board, that makes it even more unbelievable'. The waves were bumpy and short and he was fins out every turn, full roundhouse cutbacks and huge tail drop floaters all over the place in waves most people would have been struggling to ride. All without the awkward what do I do with the paddle look.

He may have been surfing OK at the Festival but remember he is only a beginner on SUP. As soon as he applies his style to SUP fully he will be a force to be reckoned with.

Jackson is a Currumbin local and rips on Mal (pro tour), shorty etc. It does not surprise me to see him surfing so well on a SUP.

Hey guys
Water is still warm and board shorts should be sweet!!!! looks like a stinky little N'ly on Sat at the moment so early heat might have good conditions and might get a bit worse as the day goes on, Sunday is up in the air still at the moment some forecast are saying 3 to 4 ft pulse of swell with W'ly winds all day.

I have my fingers crossed for some pumping waves so lets hope huey delivers.
