Just spoke to the shop (DJs favorite) and they were quite good about it. Appears to have been an honest stuff up (exacerbated by an incorrect label). They've agreed to get me a straight swap when they get some new Quickblades in (i bought the last one)

NC, the 8.3" is a small blade in area. To small for me or a powerful paddler like Candice.
It was also not designed specifically for the surf, so she set about designing a surf paddle that suited her. The day I tried this paddle in Hawaii I knew this paddle was for me.

Personally I prefer a Surf paddle with a bit of grunt, I use it on my 9'2 and my 12' Gun. When paddles get down to these weights you don't really notice the swing weight in a slightly larger blade.

The 8" Slimline IS 8.2" wide but has always been known as the 8" Slimline.

The critical measurement is the area and it is clearly bigger than the 8.3" KANAHA so I will chase that spec down, ASAP!

the shaka is a good dw paddle as well as the 8.7 qb elite racer. have used both. it would be the ants pants for me if the 8.7 er qb was reduced just a touch in size. anyone else think so?

I agree. The wife and I own 8 1/4" wide Elite Racer paddles. You just have to ask for one.
