Not as you predicted at all Casso. I had a giggle the other day at your predicted results and thought to myself, 'he has knocked Kieran out a little early, I wouldnt be surprised if he surprises a few people' i don't know his other comp record but I see him surf around town a lot and he surfs his Woody Jack SUP like people ride a shortboard. On rail and smashing the lip.

Well done everyone! Especially the chicks for having a shot!

great day of surfing.jamie was a standout all day on a mac 9'. billy and kieran battled it out in the final. billy was explosive and kieran just ripped with shortboard like speed turns and big moves. he was surfing a 8'6 white woody jack. jacko surfed really well all day and it was a credit to him to do what he did on his 8' in those conditions. some of the scoring was odd, but to no effect to the results.it was clear the judges liked to see on rail surfing and the scored accordingly. kieran mentioned he is keen to d/w, so look out. a really enjoyable day with everyone having a good time- no ego's. well done to roar industries

Hey thanks guys for all the support fro the comp even with all the late changes.

It was a great day with some fun little waves and was awesome to see the level of SUP getting heaps better i know from round one the level was high and the riding got better as the wave got worse. Well done Kieran he ripped all day and paddle hard in the race and deserved the win for sure, we even met back at the shop later on and did some down hill street SUP on his new toy. Also like to thank Jazz from Roar energy Massage who works out of Roar industries for being part of the major sponsor and sorry to her for leaving her name of the shirts so please any one feeling a bit sore today give Jazz a call and she'll fix you right up.
Also Surfing Queensland for a great job with all the behind the scene set up and master chief Marty on the BBQ it's a pity the sauce got forgotten or the BBQ would have been all time.

i will get some photo's of the day up as soon as we go through them.

I got the brush in Round one thanks to a rampaging Dale Chapman (not to mention Billy Watson) but had an absolute ball - never met a friendler crew!

One thing I would like to mention was the professionalism of the contest. The Surfing Qld crew basically ran the show complete with professional judges and an ongoing commentary that included the heat score of each competitor as they finished their rides. You would be out in the water getting an update on your scores and know what you needed to move up to second or first. Maybe this is standard at SUP comps as I am new to this?

From a spectator point of view it made for riveting viewing and some funny debate on the beach! The standard of surfing thoughtout was awesome with guys like Lummers and Woogie not even making thr final! The difficult conditions certainly played a part though.

Full credit again to Jacko, Angie and Roar for putting on such a bloody awesome event. I would urge anyone who is keen to progress their level of surfing and who wants a real friendly social day at the same time to come along next year.

Casso, AA, Sam how about we do a Sydney comp in April when the waves are pumping - have to be a Sat so we can have a big social on the Sat night.

Don't want to repeat everything that the others have already said but it was an absolutely awesome day. Random highlights and funny snaps for me were;
- Being in the water with and watching Shakira and Dane rip up the little waves in our heat
- Keiran's last wave in the final and snatching a 9 something for it, insane surfing
- I would say Marty's BBQ but then again, he always cooks a first class BBQ and those snags were extra tasty yesterday. That first beer was also a major highlight.
- Jodie Marsh's words of encouragement to get my arse across the finish line in the distance race, and Jacko's attempts to get beers off the people watching the distance race from the million dollar plus boats. (tightarse's!!)
- The friendly vibe was just totally awesome
- The lifegaurd crashing his jetski into pumping jetty was something that you don't see every day
- Seeing Peasey get on the podium, again, that's three from three in the last three SUP events on the Gold Coast there buddy ... awesome for someone surfing in a knee brace with a bung knee.

There is heaps more ... too many to list.

Thanks to Naish, ROAR Industries, Jacko, Angie, Jazz, Surfing Quensland and everyone else involved for a super day. Also thanks heaps for the Naish for the paddle for coming stone motherless, absolutey stoked to recieve it.

Thanks to RI and Surfing QLD for putting on a ripper of a contest. The standard of surfing was unbelievable and it was great to see most people opting for short board high performance surfing.

A special thanks from me personally for RI putting the new Naish 8'10" up as a lucky dip prize. I got knoked out in the first round (why did I draw Kieren Taylor and Noel Graham!) so it was great to win the new stick.
