Isnt it only pimping when you have some commercial interest or are doing it for someone who has a commercial interest ?
Otherwise it's just personal opinion and isn't that what an open forum is all about ?
So using this theory does this discount the opinions of shopkeepers? I mean I paddle too, and am in the fortunate position to be able to try and compare a lot of products, often before others get to demo. My opinions and reviews are offered to give people an idea if the product would suit their needs so they can short list it for a demo. If the demo lives up to the review, then this re-enforces my reviews and should strengthen my cred. If it doesn't live up to the review, then I'm burned.
Live by the keyboard, die by the keyboard!
I write a lot of reviews in the kite forum and on my websites. Some of the products don't live up to the hype from the manufacturer, and in this case, I tell it like it is and sell very few of them and then drop that product. We only want to be associated with top products and honest reviews. Pretty pointless short term strategy offering false reviews
I think bottom line is, if the retailer is blatant pimping and not offering useful and factual information, or offering advice which doesn't reflect the truth in order to put sales ahead of honesty, then that is the sort of pimping that should be weeded out
Just thoughts being thrown out there for discussion.
