there is a club talk section already - perhaps people post in here instead hoping / thinking / knowing that they will get more traffic.

Pretty obvious what that post was about - you probably could have just ignored it if you weren't interested.

Not to offend anyone but the sydney boys presso night was not really what I was talking about. I read that thread and had a laugh at a bit of banter between DTM and Casso.

Once again to clarify. I am personally stoked that Seabreeze is a place for all of the demo and event info's to be posted but when great posts like "Pro's in slo mo", Keahi waves pool vid, Dogman vids, sexy girl pics or any of DJ's photo essays or vids or any of the posts that get people talking or even thinking every now and then getting pushed off the page and can't be found I am wondering if the notice board to entertainment ratio is a little too far in the wrong direction.

YES!

the problem is there are no topics to push them out. why, because there is way to much playing the man and not the footy and quite frankly there are some really rude mannered people around. take that demo post yesterday. doubt we'll see that person again for a long time. yep, there goes another- where- probably where most go who have had enough- the standup paddle zone.

sooks maybe, but the numbers not posting or saying much, going or gone speak for themselves.

there is enough crap day to day without dealing with aggro and intent on whats suppose to be fun.

The problem with Categories is that a lot of people don't bother with them - well I don't anyways. Personally I prefer it all on the one page where I will see it and choose to read it or not (take note aus301).

There's already a clubs & events category for posting events, but I'm guessing people don't think it's viewed enough to be worthy of putting events in... it's there, just not used to it's full potential?

I rekon just have it all on the one page , its not hard to find posts you want to read , and if you open one your not interested in ,you have wasted a few seconds of your time.The Stand up Zone has so many categories you cant be bothered sorting through it.

Yep never really check other categories,find all the race crap boring so I just dont read them

Well said - single page/category. Most of us don't have time to flick between different pages depending on interests and mood on the day. I like free surfing, comps, races, downwinders and new equipment - like a lot of guys here.

I don't use the separate pages/categories because the exposure is approximately 10 times stronger on the main page (and that's just from the 2nd most common page/category). I only start threads because I want to share them with the widest audience available, not hidden away in a cupboard.

What Casso said-I hate sub-forums-just makes it too messy and fractures the family-better just to have one forum and better topic headings IMO.

Here is something to talk about I just got a call from Surfing Queensland too see if i wanted a spot on the over 40,s for the marathon at the Aussies. My first words where cant you find anyone faster Apparantley i was next in line. I was going to go watch Jake anyway so I accepted. Better start training Im sorry for the other guys, girls in the qld team i probably wont be getting many points , but no matter what I will finish the race.(promise)

When SA SUP Crew started 18 months ago we used the club forum for 6 months with no interest or feedback so progressed to the general forum with much better results. The club now uses facebook for club communication which works well & we only post items of interest on Seabreeze. (SA SUP Crew is a public page with anyone interested able to join). The difference is people on facebook have an identity, some of the faceless names on the breeze dont particularly care what they print.
An easy fix really if we all have an identity.

The slow traffic on the club page will be an advantage with all states starting to post time trials & if we all post them there it will be easy to compare times with paddlers in each state.

Yep ill be back at training , was going to come back when I gave up the smokes which i was all set to do this weekend , this just gives me more motivation to do so.
