These boards look great to me, my only query was the extreme nose flip in the last 4 inches. Given that PSH is now produced by Boardworks (perhaps because of the issues mentioned above) I should have known that these boards were produced accurately. Boardworks produces very top end designs of an extremely high quality. Out.

I may be wrong but I didn't think these bamboo deck PSH boards are made by Boardworks.

I stand corrected if not. I thought all PSH were going to Boardworks.

I thought I was wrong once before, I was mistaken.....

I was looking at the 12 gun last night and it looks like a similar nose flip as it is called but with the increased rocker of the shorter boards maxes it out.

Until people put the boards in the water and have 10 sessions or so who knows.

Just means more options for those looking at sub 9 ft or trading down from 10'6s

The nose flip came about after we tested about 20 different nose rockers. I started doing it a while ago because we were pushing the limits in hollow waves but didn't want to sacrifice paddling speed or have to have a board for insane barrels then another for normal waves. What we found is you put the board on its rail you can drop in later, steeper etc or you can recover from more vertical snaps etc with the flip there than without it. Just put it on it's rail and you will blow your mind HOW much steeper you can pull things without giving up any paddle speed glide.

The flip keeps our boards paddling faster than boards without it.
Riding slower, mushy waves means you still have the faster rocker from nose to tail. Waves jack up and you're good on the same board. We already knew looks wise some people wouldn't like it but the benefits while surfing were so good and we will always go with what works better over what "looks" better.

Exactly the same thing on most high performance short boards-works well. As a downside, noses are easier to snap (that is the flipped section) and packing for travelling can be more difficult-minor inconveniences compared to performance benefits.

Hi Blane, i've been riding your 9 3 ripper for the past 12 months and the only thing that l disliked about it was the lack of nose curve for steeper takeoffs. I believe you have nailed it with the nose lift on the new boards and can't wait to try one. Thank you for designing such a great board.

I was also under the impression that the entire range, bamboo, pop outs and lite weights, were all coming out of Boardworks/Asia. And that customs were only out of Oahu!!!
Not that theres anything wrong with that.
