After posting my first wooden board (pic 1) a few months ago I have now finished the second one
I was able to reduce the boards weight to 9.5kg by using PVC foam for the internal ribs and laminated foam, cork and paulownia for the frame (rails). The tail block is still the same, australian red cedar, deck and base are paulownia.
Size: 9' * 29 1/2'' * 4''

Enjoy the pics!

Bull$#!? this looks amazing.

9.5kg as well.. What a job.

Your bathtubs look good as well. Real craftsmanship. The thing is that not only is the wood working neat, the shape looks great as well.

Absolutely stunning.

Just seeing the board floating in the water makes me want to grab mine and head to the nearest body of water for a paddle

Unfortuntely the nearest body of water is the office toilet

MMMM MMMM
Got to love that board. A top quality finish and a great shape. I surf a HWS 11'9Sup as well. They feel great under foot. Might even be at the RPS paddle on sunday for a splash.
Cheers Scott

That finish is amazing. I'd have no idea (or ability) to make something that good.

What's your trade? Chippy?

Now you are just showing off.... that is bloody brilliant not only is it a work of art , it's great shape and light too. Good to see you spent the extra bucks and got the Gerry Quad sets , what made you go from FSC to Future boxes ?.

Yeah, I'm a chippy learnt the trade in Switzerland and moved to Australia in jan 09, started surfing and decided to make myself a wooden board 10 months ago. Well, it wasn't the first and last one, the paddle boards I have posted are board number 7 and 9

Rob
Hey Rob, I have been using both systems, in this case I was just keen to try the Gerry Lopez fins. The FCS Fusion boxes should be ok but I have made up jigs to fit my Festool routers to install the Future boxes.

Hi Andrew, I finished and polished the board tuesday morning, headed to the beach to shoot a few pics and was in the surf moments later. The board must be surfed, it is NOT a wallhanger! A custom made paddle board is costs $3000.
Cheers Manny

Yep. That sure is a work of art.

If you have any snaps of the board being built I'm sure that there would be plenty of people lurking around here keen to see what goes into making a board like that.
