OK lets see if we can get a small race series going!!!! now this is just a soical thing more than anything but it could be the start of something bigger!!!
First race
Wednesday 12th Jan 5:15pm
long course Wents paddle 8km Open to 12'6 and 14ft boards
Short course 4km Up creek 2km and back open to 12'6 and surf board class
All flat water race's and there will be some prizes for 1st 12'6 long course( male and female) 1st 14 long course(Male and female)
1st 12'6 short course (M & F ) 1st surfboard class ( M & F
There must be at least 3 people for each class for it to be count.
I will have a few extra boards some race and some surf board class to use but you must own a sup to compete.
Throwers Bridge to Wendts Bridge and back. Wendts Bridge is at the start of Currumbin Valley just after Currumbin Waters. You know, where the Bull sharks live!
Meeting place is Winders park Currumbin(a map will follow soon)
We want to get on the water as soon as pos so i will be at Winders park from about 4pm getting things sorted out, so if you can get there a bit earlier to get your name down and stuff like that would be a big help!!! i would like to start the race between 5:15 and 5:30 at the latest.
Long course: You must be able to paddle 8km and do it in under 1hour 20 mins. To give a example i can do it in about 50mins at an average. There will be a time cut of and if you do not reach a certain point by a certain time you will be turned around!!!
Short course: I will have a turning point 2km up the creek and then its just back to where you started from. This should take about 30-40 mins.
There will be 2 starts one for long course and one for short course, with the long course going first and then 1 min later short course goes. The start and finish line will be Thrower bridge.
Now to make my life a little easier if you know you are coming and know what you are going to ride could you please PM, email, call or pop in to the shop and let me know. By doing this i can get everyone in the right class nice and early and save a big rush on the afternoon!!
We will have a out going tide so it will be a hard paddle up the creek and a bit easier on the way back.
You might want to bring some midge spray for when you finish as well if you for get i should have some there so hit me up if you need some.

i will do one with my lad as he wont make it all the way. just wanted him at a good place doin cool things with like minded people. get him to see some better paddlers than me.
