Anyone able to comment on performance comparisons between the PSH 8'6" wide and a DC 8'8" x 29 or 8'10" x 29 ?

Hi Cranky,
I own both the PSH and DC 8'8" you mentioned but can't be of too much help because I reckon there both at that performance level of board that it all depends on how well you can surf as how the boards will perform unless your at an elite level i guess and then the finest things may make a difference.
Hard to compare the custom as it can be made to do whatever you want too where as the psh comes from their selected range.
Its almost a cliche now, try to Demo,
cheers.

with some bargaining for my dc14, looks like i'm going to get a dc8'8 stepped rail area pin with a nice fine tail and a flat ish deck- wooo hooo. i was amazed when i had a go on barry's 8'10 stepper, so fast and really quick rail to rail. gotta have something to look forward too- the waves have soooooooooooooo small of late
cheers

Have a go camo! you own them both, why would you own either one over the other, stability, paddle feel, what are the "obvious" differences in a shoot out.

^ had a go on one of Dales 12'6" on Saturday when we did a paddle on the harbor. Boards really responsive to the paddle and loves to jump on runners the vid of him catching the tinny wake was good but the runners yesterday was awesome, also showed me how much time I need to spend on my board before the fenn cup race.

I will say it's not very often you get to spend the day paddling with your shaper.

Originally I had a 16' and the 12'6 should have been for my wife
At the end of the day I spend a lot of time on the 12'6 and if it's windy enough I have more fun with it than with the longer board.
