I am going to order a custom SUP from Dale some time in the near future.. I have been scouring the net looking for pictures of his boards so i can decide what i want.. Something between a 9'-9'4" . It would be much appreciated if DC owners could put some pics up of their boards with the dimensions so i can get started on creating my dream board.. So Casso, OG, Piros.. and anyone else who wants to show of their board.. Help me out ..PLEASE

Sorry haven't any photo's yet. I have a 9'4" x 29" x 41/4", double concave bottom, with a square end, and 5 boxes so I can play around with fins. I love this board!!

Hey Mark,

Not surfing for 24 weeks isnt doing much for my sense of humour actually its killing me but, my DC is still happy its surfing even though I am not!

It has done the round of most of my mates, the hard thing is trying to get it back but I understand that!

I think Rick has it at the moment.

When I finally get back in the water I am going to get Mr Chapman to magic me up a big boy 9 stringer double carbon kevlar steel reinforced 16 QE2 / Titanic Model

Hopefully it will float me

Hey Phill

That board you have there is just what I am after. Will you be selling it to fund yr next one? And if so I would be happy to help you move it on. I have heard lots of good things abt his boards and that one is just about exactly what I am after - I would love to own one. Let me know if you want to sell her........if there is already not a queue for her!

Hope u get back in the water soon.

for cruising the canals and creeks I would suggest you to try the DC 12'6 BOP as I know dale has one to demo. It is just a good compromise between stability, glide, and being easy to move around.
I own one myself and I will use it a lot more that what I thought. I just come out of a good downwind this afternoon with a lot of small runners with 20/30 knots and it was incredibly fun.

hi mac, battle of the paddle- the model travis used in hawaii.al is right, not a big expense, but usable in the canals and you can go for a surf on it on those tiny days at coolie and thats more fun then you would imagine

I thought you we're reinventing the longboard quiver?

Dale has "average" turn around times on the website.

Cheers Lacey I get the idea Without sounding like someone else on this forumWhat are pros and cons with the BOP for 100% flatwater paddling or should I be looking for something with more length

the pros of this board to paddle around are
stability because it has been made for the the battle of the paddle so you have a lot of fighting going around the buoys (the racing 12'6 is narrower and not as stable)
the glide feeling similar to longer boards
the weight for it's size(mine (oups my wife's one) is 11.7 with grip and fin)
The cons
if you could have the same feeling with an 11' or 12' board the same style it would be even more practical to carry. so reducing it a bit could be an option but then you can't try it before....
Go and have a look at this you will understand more how easy this board is to paddle. I guess if you try it on flat water you'll be convinced and will be looking for this kind of feeling when you paddle

I'll bring mine to currumbin river next week to try something, if you're not far from there you can have a go

8.7 Stepdeck

How would you compare the way the stepdeck performs up against the standard?

whooooo Hoooooooo... Thanks heaps Guys This is just what i wanted .. Casso!! Mate that 8'10" is so sweet and Piros 9'2" as well..I also like OG's 9'4. I definitely seem to be leaning towards the swallow tail..
Casso.. I met you out at one mile on the Friday before the comp.. I was the local on the green/yellow jimmy lewis... what tail does your 8'6 have on it??

Phill the 9-2 was replaced by the 8-11 (cover shot) .The 9-2 was really nice and stable but riding it only for a shorter while I knew I could go smaller. Can't remember who I sold it too

To me the step is the future you really notice how much more the board pulls over onto it's rail and that adds up to alot more speed off your bottom turn

Yeah Ben, I remember - I guessed this was you with that username.

The 8'6" has a rounded pin - goes great - holds in on the big stuff yet easy to throw around in the small.

Dale can pretty much use any materials you want (with in reason).

Anyone able to comment on performance comparisons between the PSH 8'6" wide and a DC 8'8" x 29 or 8'10" x 29 ?
