It was a pleasure to have participated in Sup Fest last weekend.
The format was fun, well-paced, exciting and friendly. The venue was amazing and the non-sup paddling events were fascinating to watch.
Huge thanks to the Fuzzy & SA Sup Crew for hosting a meticulously run event.
Thanks Deano from Ke Nalu for having the vision to become the major sponsor of this inaugural event and also to Australian Canoeing for integrating Sup into a national title.
Hi Woz
Well done on the o/50, by all reports you were smokin'. Glad you enjoyed the weekend.
The AuSUP Ke Nalu SUPfest was created by AuSUP. We established a MoU with Australian canoeing to run our event. We arranged the distance lengths and age groups as well as the overall champion concept and sourcing sponsors.
The Partnering agreement with AC (MoU) has been a year long process and we are excited that AuSUP is recognized by both Surfing Australia and AC as the National advisory body for SUP. We saw a need for this style of event to appeal to the Flatwater paddling demographic. AC have been fantastic and we are very appreciative of them allowing us to feature in their National Titles.
Well done to Fuzz and the local Guys for hosting the event. Also to Paul for arranging sponsorship (along with Fuzz). Sincere thanks to Dean from Ke Nalu for believing in the event and getting right behind it. Big thanks to our amazing sponsors - this collection of board bands and shops really believe in SUP in Asutralia. If you want to get a SUP product from someone that actually cares about SUP look no further than the list of sponsors from the SUPfest - unbelievable effort!!
Thanks also for the guys and girls that travelld over for the event - we put this on for you, thank you for your efforts and smiles.
