We'll probably start a new thread, with pics from tonight....
3 different fins made very marginal difference for me on the Naish 14, over 400m, with 1 turn (2x200m - out and back). The 3 fins were the Naish 14 Standard Fin, this Winged Fin in photo, and an 8 inch True Ames Al Merrick Channel Island Generation 2 Single Fin, with loads of rake. Photos to follow.
The legrope / leash trailing in the water, added maybe 3-4 seconds over 400m. Very marginal. But that becomes roughly 10 seconds per km.....
The Naish 14 Standard Fin probably points the best, allowing up to 12 strokes on 1 side (with minor wind assistance).... but by pausing to swap sides, you get a free little glide and rest, and seems to make little difference overall....
Essentially, slightly inconclusive, more scientific testing required !!
My first run was 3mins 7secs on the Naish 14 Fin, and all the other runs were peppering 3.08/3.10/3.11/3.12..... what effect does muscle fatigue have.... ???
Have fun in the water people !!
