Had to leave early from Merimbula ,leaving just after the sup race yesterday which DJ covered well in the above post but also worth a mention is Angie,Jacko and Lummers paddling two legs of the race as they were in both a 14ft team and 12'6 team ,big effort there

.
Seemed like twice the number of sup'ers this year but not sure on exact figures.
The pics Phill posted above are first shot of Andy from NSW and Steve the local up there who led a convoy of keen surfers to the best spots every day depending on the conditions at the time, thanks for showing us around mate

.
Was great to follow Jacko and Andy on a downwinder[for a short time anyway until they disappeared into the distance

and going through the Pambula river mouth in the arvo's on an outgoing tide made things real interesting on the 17ft glide with the waves standing up that much more, DJ has a shot amongst his 100's of pics of Casso taking off on the 12'6 Deep board of his and nose diving down the face of a wave which was lucky for me as if he made the drop the 17 glide and myself would have been split in two as I was momentarily stuck on the sand bank straight in front of him

.
The north east wind picks up most afternoons giving great conditions for downwind runs and combined with the morning surfs and throw in the flat water Saturday race this event has everything covered for the keen Sup'er.
Was great to meet new crew and catch up with everyone from last year, sorry have not one pic after taking two cameras and a video cam[}:)] was just too busy paddling

,
Cheers.
