Plenty of pics in the board review section to see the bottom shape, looks pretty different to me plus the rockers look pretty different as well. But what do I know I ride fanatic![]()

Oops sorry my bad. I forgot you're only meant to mention the 3 "big" labels on this site. Everyone draws influence from somewhere so it's no surprise to see features of one board show up somewhere else. It's evolution. No one said it was a direct rip off that's for sure but for so many to notice it must make it fairly obvious there are some similarities. No big deal.
You mean the big 3 who have sponsored this site well before SUP existed? I could care less but this was a Naish topic and had nothing to do with any other brand besides a reverse bow?
If you want a topic on how good sometime else is start a topic and pimp away I could care less!!![]()
It is admirable that people want to promote Lahui Kai. But other brands have already been using inverted bows in many guises long before Naish 2015. And in any case inverted bows are a standard design feature on many water craft - it isn't Lahui Kai's intellectual property. You might as well say that Lahui Kai have ripped off boat designers.
I also find it hard to see much similarity between the Manta and the new Javelin anyway. The differences are far greater than any similarity.
LOL, I've missed the forums.
The Naish Javelin for 2015 (as with all their boards) is development from the ground up and more a progression from previous Javelins and Glides. Reverse bows have been in boating for decades, possibly even a centuries and are still used in some of the worlds fastest sailing vessels today. As a design to reduce pitching of the hull as it passes through waves/chop through a lesser ratio of volume as more hull goes into the water whilst keeping a long waterline & more constant speed (as pitching generally means slowing of hull speed).
Anyway, I am keen to hear peoples thoughts once they actually get on the board, we are stoked with it, and have experienced the performance lift from the 2014 Javelin (which is an amazingly fast board already). The first boards should be on the water Mid July, and in the hands of some reputable racers not aligned with any brand.
Ride safe,

Hi JB, how different is the 2015 Jav LE 14' x 28" in comparison to the 2014 GX Glide?
I'm guessing absolutly everything… except the length.. and maybe the price.. ![]()
Hey Maxeeboy,
It's a pretty hard one to be exact as they are very different boards. But the Jav is designed to be much faster on the flat water, where the Glide has a lot of open ocean and touring application in it's design. Now, saying that, the new Jav 14 x 28 is amazing in the open ocean and considerably faster than the Glide and not really any less stable. I think the GX version is going to be a great upgrade for many Glide paddlers who wish to progress up. This year's Javelin is so many boards in one (I know it sounds too good to be true), by taking aspects of the previous boards into one design to achieve that which is most important on a pro level racing board. In saying that for general touring and cruising the Glide range is still the intended choice, but if you're after a bit more, than Javelin is your baby. On the 28" boards the benefit of not having to move back so often is a real plus for bigger riders.
I am sure you are going to see heaps of reviews up very soon from hands on demo's.
Hope this helps a little.
Ride safe,
JB

Do you own a shop that sells naish? Or do you work for naish? Or is this all.a independent assessment of what you have ridden? I am.simple so.please.don't raise your voice at me if I have offended you![]()
JB works for Windginuity in Sydney and I think Windginuity are the Aussie importers/distributers for Naish.
Last time I saw JB he was sitting on the floating platform at Merimbula with a swag of Coronas.
He may also be a product testing vehicle for Corona...
