All the regulars made it through the heats yesterday. First wave of the first Jake blew the back put of the wave about 4 times and then finished with a little cover up.

The BOP was taken out by Ben Tardrew and a massive performance by Luke Jenkins to cross the line 2nd, followed by Cam McKay, Michelle England, Lach Simpson, Stimo and Gordon Mckercher had a sprint to the line.

On a personal note did better in the surfing than last year. Actually got more than one wave and didn't snap my leggie and actually managed to finish 3rd in my heat.

But you nearly drowned mate !!!!!! in the bop think there may be some revised times with the 12/6 handicap as all but Michelle you and me on 12/6. So watch this space for final spots also over 40 wave result still waiting on over 50 Tim y'all's local took it out over Gordon Mckercher and loc Simpson

Soooooo i'm guessing those racing 14' boards were scratched like at Secrets last year?

Good to see Phil getting into the open final, he must have been stoked!

No Scratching on 14 footers, we applied handicapping, it was an interesting race alot of positions changes once they got into the surf, its was apparent that everyone needs some more practice in waves on race boards. fun to watch at the finish.

What a craker of a weekend, a big congratulations to the winners, and a big thankyou to all who entered, the SUP numbers are growing rapidly and it is great to see so many new faces. A very special thanks to Galvo at the STANDUP SURF SHOP and Ian and STARBOARD for their continued support, you guys never fail to assist and it is really appreciated. I would also like to personally thank Justin and his team from Surfing WA who tirelessly run a great event, with the extra SUP entries it makes for a very long day on the beach. Thanks guys for embracing the SUPs and making us part of your events. I cant wait for Denmark for round 2.

After getting BOG for the night time activities, it wasn't pretty Luke. You might want to ask Galvo how he pulled up.

Thanks for the no show rog and Galvo just moved me up the ladder in the over 40 I will run with that for a while you both won the drinking hands down Galvo calling it gastro (not)

I'd like to say a couple of thank you's as well.

Firstly the Surfing WA team who put on a fantastic weekend, I'm looking forward to the Denmark comp.

More importantly though to Ian and Gordon for reminding me when we got back from dinner and a couple of pints at Caves House,
that heading over for a couple of quiety's with Galvo and Rog could be dangerous with a 8am heat the next morning.

After swallowing half the lineup coming in I had a quick chat to a few guys on Saturday arvo and the seed has well and truely been planted. I hear you and Ben have found a good little spot down past the Cut which would be ideal???

!st state round this weekend at Yall's and conditions are looking bloody great!! Does anyone know if we need to wear a pfd in the Technical Race if it is from Smiths to Yalls ( as opposed to an 'out and back' race at Yalls) ? See ya all there !

and this is on his dodgy knee

and on a board style he has not ridden before

and then winning against the outstanding skills of the Jakovich brothers and

in conditions that most poeple would not be able to sup in !

Yes, an outstanding effort that i doubt will be ever matched !

Yep I second that and he also took out the golf on Friday mind you it's was only Galvo and rog the rest of us were surfing off shore clean y'all's to our selfs. (Well sort to our selfs few mals out )

But he commented to me before our heat that he had not ridden the Carbon version of the 8 5" SB Pro - which i found interesting.
