Def 8mm chain for your boat. The issue with that winch is that it is only a chain gypsy, you would need to manually change over to the rope winch if you wanted a rope/chain combo rode.
Advantages is that you have an electric rope winch to run halyards to if required.
Looking at your pics I would look at moving the large cleat to the back of the timber bowsprit and putting a horizontal winch in front of the cleat. Remembering you should never leave your winch holding your rode for long periods or in high load anchoring, you can then attach an anchor strap (forget to officoal name for one of these) to your cleat and to the chain or tie off the rope on your cleat.
I would then suggest something like 20m of 8mm chain with another 50-100m of 14mm 8 plait polyester rope behind it, like this
