Nah, now I've had a look at the bow, not a Clipper. It's got a bit of a Timpenny look about it??

Disraeli, if I had the room, bloody oath I would, agree its a mess but a friend has had it sitting out the back for a while. Needs a bit of patching and repaint, but seems to be a solid boat. Free, did I mention the price????????
Want to try and find out the make and do a bit of research on it. In the meantime is anyone in Brissie looking for a FREE project.
Cheers
Ken

Didn,t take much notice of the rigging, was in a hurry when i called in. Will try and get back this week and have a yarn with the owner. Trailer is unbraked so i don,t think its a heavy boat. Looks like glass and ply combo.

Hi , Looks like a Hartley to me , I used to have a hartley 16 and it looked very similar , very light , glass over a marine ply hull , fractional rig ,swing keel.
Catch you , Chris.

Trailer and a few bits worth more than the boat - too much work.

A couple of people at my club embarked in those kind of projects - too much.

If this boat is 17 foot long and cold moulded construction I would say its a Pelin Caribou. Very popular NZ trailer sailer. Like an improved Harley 16. Its a boat that's definitely worth saving!

Not as bad as it looks Pierre, bit of fairing on the bow a good sand and a repaint and she will look a million dollars

Looks like I have someone willing to have a go at restoring this boat. Talked to the old guy who used to sail it and he hasn,t a clue what make it is. Fractional rig, swing keel, glass over ply skin. Will be taking photo,s as she progresses. This may be a long process but hopefully will be ready for Bay to Bay.
Cheers

Presumably you mean double diag. ply, glass covered. Have a look at the NZ Tradeaboat site for a Caribou, there are usually several for sale. Pelin designed boats all have the same look.
