One of my sailing heroes has passed. I used to follow Commander Bill King's exploits in his solo around the world voyages. And for the ex navy people amongst us he was also a highly decorated navy officer that commanded submarines all through WW2. His obituary is really worth a read.
Certainly was. Hard to imagine running a submarine aground then being asked by Winston Churchill over for a drink and a cigar and explaining yourself. I joined the navy at 15 and that was fairly young, he joined at 13. Know any 13 year olds these days that could join the navy?
