Saw this boat called Narama, POR Sydney, a long way from home in Moorea, French Polynesia last month.

Is she a Brolga? Magpie?

In the background is Gazelle, the gzillion dollar Gunboat 60.

My guess would be Magpie. The mast is too short and the boom too long for a Brolga. Its a credit to the designer that that vessel can still sail with its cruising additions!

Plenty of pictures of Berrimilla to down load to compare. Probably the best known Brolga 33 and most travelled.

Saw the post while on the bus this morning. I know Berri quite well and she does have a long boom, compared to the S&S. The deck profile and transom also fit the Brolga. But then I am not familiar with the Magpie.

If an underside can be pretty, this boats' certainly is. The shape of her keel is gorgeous. It's almost a shame that it's usually hidden by the water.

as much as I don't think I will ever go back to owning a mono because of the things I love about multis - speed, space, speed, stability, shallow draft, did I mention speed - multis will, however, never have quite the aesthetic appeal of a good monohull.

I just can't say that I've seen too many pretty cats, and that includes my own girl. Although, the Erik Lerouge Azuli F40 that I am working towards is beautiful in the eyes of this beholder...not excessive freeboard, only 5ft headroom in the bridgedeck (my height) so not boxy...very sassy.

But, then again, some of the bigger tris are quite charming - the old Crowther Buccaneers or there's a green Grainger called Ocean Emu that's just stunning!
