I have one of those early 240v car vacuum cleaners on the boat but I'm considering a wet/dry vacuum cleaner as I have in the workshop for special occasions. The run time would only be a few minutes. The battery bank is under a settee berth and the invertor will be mounted close by in the same compartment. The cables are the same size as the battery cables. The battery compartment will be open anytime the invertor is in use.
Is yours a catamaran because I don't see any gimbals?
No, it's a mono but I have removable fiddles if needed.

Also you can get silicon mats that go under the pots etc to stop them slipping that work really well!!
