When we were out the other week the EAC was 10s of miles offshore off the central coast.
We had a bit of northerly set up to a few miles offshore. oceancurrent.imos.org.au/product.php

I like that site. I can't quite work out how to read it quantitatively. Still it allows one to work out how the current is behaving. I still like to alter course if I see a fishing float and have a sqiz as we sail by. A few times it has seemed like someone is towing the float along, but that was usually around Port Macquarie to Coffs.
