Price is right. Needs a tidy up. No motor.

You could put a match to it, but it would probably not burn as it would be too water logged. Boats are like people they cost money to bury after they die.

Hey drog, if you tried to launch yourself off the deck of that one, it would give way underneath you!!
...........It's costing her $50 a week to keep it tethered where it is! Sounds like she wants someone to pay her to get rid of it. She should just pull the winches etc, off it and send it to the tip, sell the winches to cover the tip fee, job done!

I'm not sure those winches are worth that much. I'd buy a pump, hire a boat, tow her somewhere deep and say farewell. Maybe the deck gear would cover those costs. Maybe not. But $50 a week!

If the seller only values it at $1.00 why should I value it any higher and actually bid on it?

It's actually free. That's why I mentioned the price was right.

Towing it away to sink may be very expensive! Now if it was a steel yacht there would be some scrap value.

I agree with Jode5, this may be one of the many boats that are left after a family bereavement. The bloke selling the Mottle 33 having a pre deceased sale is a very good idea.

I am going to put a challenge to those who claim that I don't know what I am talking about and red thumb my almost every post......and we do know who you are.
This craft is beyond salvation.
Now as I don't know what I am talking about it's up to you to deny my claim, tell me I am wrong, and to prove your point actually go out and save this boat.
Up to the challenge?

Part of any restoration is funding the project. What I can do is give my personal guarantee that I will buy the fully restored craft from you at its fair market value on completion of your restoration. Only out for me will be if you insist on installing a **** holding tank over the owners bunk in the master stateroom.

Hi Frant

We have a local boat here called Varg

She was bought in Sydney with the intention to restore her but she was that far gone the only thing that is now original in the keel

http://www.afloat.com.au/afloat-magazine/2012/september-2012/Varg_-_the_rebirth_of_a_classic_eight_metre#.VZ49whhkmK3

I think that with enough funds available nothing is beyond salvation

Regards Don

Don, my eldest son lives on a 1958 Savage built H28 now in the little bay just North of the bridge. We did a fair amount of restoration work on his boat in Paynesville prior to him sailing down to Tasmania.
But are you serious?
if so join the challenge.

Just for you Rant I will fit the holding tanks out on the pontoons you then can gravity drain them on either tack if the need to lighten up your ship/sh#t!

or we can arrange it such to your current yacht where it just pumps directly onto your head when your having a nice swim in some lovely marine park !

Hi Frant

Is it Cornelian Bay that he lives in

Re the challange I still have a 2 inch section on my tiller that I have been meaning to varnish for the past 2 years so I probably am not the best person to take it on

Donk, yes Cornelian Bay it is. He has been engineless cruising since Paynesville.
My current idea is that we hold SouthAce to his restoration job. You will be useless if you can't even varnish a tiller. Have Trave buy the tri and sail West to East across the Pacific. Sell it in the states and finish up with ****loads of coin keeping the accountant in Yarra and Cisco happy. If we get $2 as a fair value of the tri I can buy it and still keep within Ciscos 5% of net worth invested in a boat cause my present net worth is $10 AUs.

I would be fitting a helm/wheel pilot at your expense Rant, I'm not sure you read the previous post where you would finance the re-build. No varnish tillers Rant!

No you are required to finance the rebuild. I will buy the restored boat at market value. Otherwise you are full of ****,

Bugger

i was looking forward to helping out

it's not that I can't varnish it, more that I haven't got a round to doing it yet

it it has only been 2 years and you can't rush these things
