It got a bit wet and cold today so I took to another sail and it is taking me a lot of effort to not go too the others but I'm afraid if I do I will get a kick in the butt from Landyacht so we shall just leave them in the corner.
Making progress slowly with the other Chassis.

Right Ho! Back from the sail makers and pretty happy with the way it runs up the Mast.

Have a look at it but more importantly the way it is positioned on the entire frame.

can i suggest that you lay out a sail, and use some big sticksetc to mark where you reckon to cut. we can then suggest in,out .up down etc till a good profile is reached

I intend to use a Gastra Ignition 5.5mtr Mast cut down to suit the Sale and Occum's Razor. Do you think that will be stiff enough? It was used in conjunction with that sail.
Dave, AUS02 is into Speed Sailing -----Big Time. Anyway I can always stuff another mast head inside to stiffen it more-------------------If needs must.

I shall chuck another Curly One at you Paul and whoever would like to put there 10cents worth in as well.
I have cut the Curve to reshape my GASTRA, OOPH! That sounds Painful .

Question; Studying the Pattern Curve and the Original Leading Edge Curve, they appear to be very much the same +-20mm max deviation.
Now if I lay the Carbon Cross Hatched section in + the Original Luff Pocket Less around a Meter and again with a little manipulation of the Sail Foot I get pretty much the same shape required for the formula as Laid by Required Sail Shape. My point being with materials such as used in these sails will it hold up under the usage conditions of Land Yachting if I, standard reinforce the Luff Edge clear material in and then have the Pocket sewn in as well
I hope this is clear enough to be understood. The Luff Pocket no doubt will have to be manipulated a little as well to Keep the general integrity of the Shape.

Id go with a parallel pocket as Im not a sailmaker and have not yet done any experimental sails with big pockets successfully

Oh! Poop! Well I literally did as you suggested Paul, I cut the Luff Pocket to exactly parallel. It doesn't quite work that way. Starting at the top I measured the Half Width as it is folded in half and transferred this measurement down the pocket and cut as I went. Hm! Perhaps I should see how it looks wrapped about the Mast Base.. Oops! Cart before the horse. If I sew that lot together it will be a tight fit I think. Because of the design and method of trapping the Sail Head at the Mast Top The Luff Pocket is fairly narrow and I didn't take this into account and allow a little more room at the bottom of the pocket to accommodate the mast base. Oh Well! I will have to make a new Pocket I guess..
