Richard,
Keep your chin up, The lake will clear quickly when the wind changes to come from the west or S/W which is where the best wind comes from later in the month.
I use the site attached as the most accuarate advance forcasting that I have found.

hey richard went upto red hill about 3.00pm had a look at the lake. yes its still wet out where you like to sail, and the wind is coming from the south east. looks like its clearing from the edge of the causeways, where you are. a southerly would be handy tho to clear the lake, even more. which you would know would leave you with an extremely smooth surface. hope to see you very soon trav and jodie

the picture of paul in his wheel chair which hes holding a beer.........its just a joke something funny to make everyone laugh. there was never an accident, next time i crack a joke i will let you know its a joke. i can be vey convincing sometimes, expect more!. we were simply trying to make up something to go with the picture.
paul took it as he always does good naturedly. no animals or humans were hurt when this picture was taken......

cheers trav

I'm the first to admit that Paul can be full of wind at times. But at least what he says if worth listening too (well mostly), which is more than I can say.....

How about contributing something worthwhile occasionally like perhaps who you are

sorry cousin Trav, the kiters were getting paranoid that a landyachter would rob them of the title of 'most gay sailing clothes' and had to change back into my relaxin stuff. [}:)]

I thought a picture of me sharpening a razor or two ready for cousin Wayne's weekly haircut and shave would make for a more 'manly' image of landsailors

mind you after some of the kiting videos ive seen, some of the landsailors I know would qualify for university degrees.
youd have to ask "WHY" do they do that stuff.?

I dunno, I'm keen to give kite buggying a go one day! I won't be doing it in a tropical storm though! I'm just worried I might behead everyone else on the beach with the lines.

A whole pile of Sandgropers and Lake Lefroy club members went out to the clubhouse last night to farewell Richard and Co for another year. We had a lovely night despite the fact that our desert location had turned into a swap.

Our commiserasions to Richard who was beaten by the weather this time around. Hang in their, with your new slick craft we are sure you wil succeed when the conditions are right.

There was a great write up about Richards attempt on the front page of Thursday's Kalgoorlie Miner and then a cartoon in todays Miner too.

Great to catch up with our American freinds, Bill and Dennis. Dennis entertained us with stories about SASSASS's secret weapon - the Sasinator (a cement mixer converted to the meanest cocktail maker in the US!)

The Sasinator makes guest appearances at some of the big US regatta's incluing perhaps the 2009 Pacrims in March next year?

Good to hear that Kym and some others from SA? are thinking of competing in the next Pacrims - nice to know Australia will be represented.

The swap mentioned above I think was supposed to read swamp, but we certainly swapped some tall stories if nothing else...

Not good news to hear the record wasn't challenged on account of the weather . I hope next time is much better, good luck preparing for the next trip.

Any chance someone would be willing to scan the article and cartoon in the Kalgoorlie Miner and post it here if there is a copy still 'floating'' around?
